They have now resorted to pictures (often faked or of someone else) making her look crazy, or more often dressed like a normal human being. They act all shocked that woman in winter in Minnesota would be wearing a flannel shirt and a knit cap. They a trying hard to make her look ugly so that the not-so-culty members will think less of her and fall in line. I don't know if it is working but its making the ICE loyalists like pretty petty.

(Aside: now you've got me racking my brains trying to remember what the case was where the Russian FSB were obviously instructed to plant evidence of being a terrorist bombmaker on someone, including such items as SIMs, but the agents misunderstood their instruction and "found" the suspect had a cache of multiple copies of the game The Sims.)

Ostensibly turning the matter over to the FBI satisfies the requirement for securing and processing the crime scene, collecting evidence, and preserving a chain of custody. However, whatever federal crimes the FBI thinks they may be investigating are separate from the state crimes that may have been committed by the officer or victim. State and local law enforcement are not subordinate to the FBI. While there is no general obligation for the FBI to cooperate with state and local law enforcement, they are obliged by court decisions to shared access to relevant evidence with other duly constituted investigative bodies. This would include Minneapolis police and Minnesota state criminal investigative bureaus.

Is there still some need to prove what Noem really is ?

I'm afraid that the words "competent" and "MAGA leader" don't fit in the same phrase, or even the same hemisphere. I wouldn't be surprised to hear some magachud explain that Das Kapital is an investment magazine.

The FBI office here in Utah reported on Patel's behavior when he arrived to take credit for Charlie Kirk's assassin turning himself in. Among the other complaints, Patel refused to leave his airplane until he could get a "raid jacket" to wear for the cameras. Since he's so small, there was a delay in finding one that could fit him. Not a lot of faith that he will get to the bottom of this shooting either.

I know, I was joking. Being good at the things they do (from their own point of view) isn't the same as being good at normal people stuff.

Hence the scene was legally contaminated from the very first minute. A competent defense attorney could get the forensic evidence suppressed on those grounds alone.
