Trump's Second Term

Not that it matters . . .

The Kennedy Center was named after my uncle, President John F Kennedy. It was named in his honor. He was a man who was interested in the arts, interested in culture, interested in education, language, history. He brought the arts into the White House, and he and my Aunt Jackie amplified the arts, celebrated the arts, stood up for the arts and artists. It is beyond comprehension that this sitting president has sought to rename this great memorial dedicated to President Kennedy. It is beyond wild that he would think adding his name in front of President Kennedy’s name is acceptable. It is not.Next thing perhaps he will want to rename JFK Airport, rename the Lincoln Memorial, the Trump Lincoln Memorial. The Trump Jefferson Memorial. The Trump Smithsonian. The list goes on.Can we not see what is happening here? C’mon, my fellow Americans! Wake up! This is not dignified. This is not funny. This is way beneath the stature of the job. It’s downright weird. It’s obsessive in a weird way. Just when you think somone can’t stoop any lower, down they go…

My guess is that they know that TACO also lost in 2024 if the votes were counted fairly.

More correctly, it's not about the vote count, it's about how many people who should have had valid votes did not have such because of Republican shenanigans and voter suppression.

Trump's rambling now seems to be wandering towards some breach of contract thing, with the current Venezuelan regime not honouring previous agreements for US companies to exploit Venezuela's oil. IDK anything about that history. Maybe he has a case and maybe he doesn't but it's taken him an awful long time to get round to telling anyone what he actually wants.

This really just brings a simple question to mind to address first. Are any of these "breaches of contract" related to backlash from all that criminal action against Venezuela that he and his Administration have been committing?

But it isn't Russia or China that we are "pushing back against," but rather, completely and entirely random-ass VENEZUELA! It's like Trump just closed his eyes, and pointed on the map and his tiny little finger happened to hit on Venezuela.

Not really random, especially not a recent random. Trump was apparently dissuaded from invading Venezuela over and over and over during his first term. It's likely mostly a combination of greed for oil that would in turn lead to bribes to him and a poll boost from a perceived easy "win" that are the main rationales that some Wormtongue planted in him.

On the name change

For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move. Also for the record, this was not on the agenda. This was not consensus. This is censorship.
She’s not got up to speed on the new definitions. Unanimous means everyone who Trump allows to vote voted for him.

I didn't know about China sending troops to Venezuela. There was also Darfur, as I mentioned. Probably a few other very minor little incursions here and there. But no real actual wars. I'm not even sure when the last time that China even STARTED an actual real full-blown, full-scale war. As far as I know, China has always been a victim, even since the Boxer Rebellion. And even then, there were a lot of Chinese states that fought among themselves for centuries. Usually between three major kingdoms. I'm not very well-read on Asian history, but I do know quite a bit about Western history, particularly US history specifically. And never once in our nation's history has China ever come to actual blows with the US. Not by it's own choosing.
They certainly came to blows in Korea, and they chose to join that fight.
