The sinking of MS Estonia: Case Reopened Part VII

EPIRB batteries do not recharge themselves .
Please stop demonstrating your ignorance of how these devices work.
Correct. They have a certified lifetime. Once they reach their time limit the whole unit is returned to the supplier to be fitted with new batteries.
I do mine on a part exchange basis, i get one with new batteries in exchange for my unit and some cash.

She was talking about batteries which should have kept the bridge powered after the generator stopped. It was part of a list of things she wishes us to find suspicious, but of course all it really does is suggest the maintenance and testing of such backup systems was shoddy, if when they were needed they failed to work.

Not all the equipment is on a backup circuit and as you say we don't know the capacity of the batteries, what the drain was or if they were working.

◊◊◊◊ off with this same bollocks you already tried.

Who cares what ◊◊◊◊ a newspaper posts.

We know the exact model of buoy, it's manual.
They were recovered and were found to be inactive.
When they were turned on they worked as they should.

This is all in the report and supporting archive.

Why do you post the same lies over and over, even when they have been shown to be lies?

Is it a game or are you ill?
I am perfectly well, thank you. What seems to escape you is that the compulsory hydrostatically operated automatic EPIRBS had been SWITCHED OFF. As for the Hammar spring, auto activated hydrostatically, when in four metre deep water, was found by Rockwater STILL IN ITS CAGE. So the Hammar didn't auto activate either because the whole thing was found at the bottom of the sea intact. You have been shown the stills from the official video.

Nobody claimed EPIRBs charge themselves. But they were certified as having been inspected and in working order. In other words, there is paperwork that PROVES this was so.

Still bollocks, no matter how many times you assert that the EPIRBs were automatically activated.

We know the EPIRBs were working. We know they were tested afterwards and found to be working perfectly.

They only remaining mystery is why you can't put two and two together.

No that's all lies and you know it.

An automatic buoy has one switch for battery testing.
It has no in or off switch.
A manual operation buoy is the only one that has an on and off switch.

You have been shown this with both photographs, references to SOLAS regulations, manufacturers specifications and operating instructions.

That you keep repeating it shows you are deliberately telling lies.
