I don’t think we have historically done well as a country with reconciliation. The Reconstruction fiasco was largely an appeasement of landed Southern and industrial Northern interests with hardly a thought for justice or any national understanding on how to reestablish and strengthen the Union, so the rifts persist. Never a national commitment to human rights or dignity or representative democracy.
 
I'm so glad the chubby little bastard's dementia-addled brain is still functional enough to allow him to realize, and fear, just how incredibly ◊◊◊◊◊◊ he is. He'll probably never face legal consequences for most of the horrible things he's done, but I guess there's some comfort in knowing that he gets to experience his body and mind oh so slowly deteriorate while his good name (lol, as if) is dragged through the mud. Maybe, just maybe, and I know the chances aren't high, his support might even collapse before he dies. That would be incredible.

The goal is always to return to the status quo ASAP, because the status quo is where conditions are ripe for the rich fat bastards that rule us to become richer and fatter. Even our initial revolution was just to keep the local rich fat bastards from having to send some of their money to the overseas rich fat bastards.

There were some lovely pamphlets and tracts composed with highfalutin flowery prose. I know that some (e.g. Thomas Paine) were sincere. Yet in retrospect, the majority were just platitudes I guess.

To be pedantic it is gimlet (a tool for making holes) not Gimlet like the cocktail (or more correctly Gimlette, named after an Edinburgh naval surgeon who added gin to the daily dose of preserved lime juice to make it more palatable).

US President Donald Trump said he would ask Attorney General Pam Bondi and the FBI to look into Epstein's "involvement and relationship" with Clinton and others.
