General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Wondering how much of this "Gammon outrage" is written in Moscow...
Given that the posts I saw talked about "The Councillor for Sheffield" I assume a foreign origin. Then I read stuff from actual Reform councillors and think maybe not.
And Sheffield stopped the big switch on during COVID and never restarted as it's a HSE and logistic nightmare. Instead it has month long xmas markets and other celebrations. You can't have been to Sheffield centre during the last few Decembers without knowing the council is big on xmas (and pulling in shoppers who'd otherwise head for the Meadowhall shopping mall).

Of course he had no intention to do what his letter said he was going to do.

Reform UK council leader George Finch has said a letter he sent to the education secretary on school taxis in Warwickshire is being used as "political football".

He wrote seeking permission for councils to set their own rules over children's walking distances between home and school to save them money.
The letter said analysis undertaken by council officers had suggested increasing the statutory distance could reduce the "eligible cohort", meaning pupils as young as eight could walk up to five miles to school.

But the council leader said that was not his intention.

He said: "People have said I want to increase [the statutory distance] to five miles. I don't. I never said I want to. All I did was a wrote a letter to Secretary of State asking for more devolved powers."
Finch said he was "disappointed" his letter was being used as "political football" to attack him and the council.

As with the EU, the EHCR etc

Farrage's Outfits: We have to leave xxxxx so we can change the rules

Anyone Paying Attention: So you want to make things worse for everyone?

FOs: No, we might want to make things better

APA: But you can already make things better, these are minimum standards, the only reason to leave is to go lower..

Gammons: ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ traitor. Leave everything. Nigel for are president!

BBC director general Tim Davie and CEO of News Deborah Turness resigned.

A major victory for the Gammons.

Defund the BBC. Starmer is finished etc.

We need to create such a hostile and unwelcoming environment for illegal migrants that the vast majority deport themselves.

The "we" in this instance may very well refer to the government, which is probably disturbing enough, but Lowe's body of work suggests that he knows full well that his target audience and those likely to take him literally can't differentiate between legal immigrants, illegal immigrants, and non-white people born and bred in the UK.

Utter, utter, ****.
