General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

@churnwell
No poppy? Then you shouldn't be allowed to purchase a coffee from Costa Coffee. Join me in honouring the war dead by asking Costa customers why they're not wearing a poppy.

Oh do go shove yer ◊◊◊◊◊ Costa coffee up yer arse, you utter pish monkey!

PS I have never, ever worn a poppy of any sort, nor ever will.

The House of Commons culture, media and sport committee said it had written to BBC chairman Samir Shah to ask what action is being taken over the concerns raised in the memo.

Caroline Dinenage, head of the committee, said MPs "need to be reassured that those at the very top of the BBC are treating these issues with the seriousness they deserve".

I don't know, it messes up the rhyme scheme a bit:

We three kings of orient are,
One in a taxi, one in a car,
one on a scooter, bibbing his hooter,
Following yonder star pie

o-o Star pie of wonder,
Star pie of light,
if you fart we'll have a fight,
Stink up the place and we'll smash up your face,
So just bugger off, alright?

I grew up with the 'We Three Lads of Liverpool Are' version, and 'following Ringo Pie' definitely doesn't work!

i think that fits better

Today's Gammon outrage

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has unveiled Islamic star “Christmas” lights across the capital

No crosses, no nativity, no sign of Christian tradition.

Another year of stripping faith from Britain’s biggest holiday.

A design that seems to celebrate anything but Christmas itself.

Paid for by the very taxpayers whose heritage is being erased.

Khan’s London doesn’t even pretend to honour Christmas anymore.

No Christian symbols anywhere to be seen.

This is being done on purpose.

The Irish, famous throughout the world for their quiet nights in

MichaeloKeeffe
@Mick O Keeffe
All Irish people know the night time is sacred, once darkness falls, be quiet.
But the migrants have zero respect for our way of life.
That’s why when the sun sets at about 1930 in Dublin on March 17 you can hear a pin drop until the next morning.

“A great day for the golden rule of political analysis: when the right wins it is a resounding ideological victory that humiliates the left and when the left wins it is a precarious fluke that will surely end up humiliating the left. Conservatives are power’s landlords and the left merely tenants”

I also liked this reply from Kashana
“Looking forward to learning all about how the right should move left to win elections tomorrow. They should maybe dye their hair pink, learn to love pronouns.”

Glinner wasn't happy that there was a man in a dress on Only Connect.

Victoria is far more polite than I would ever be.

It went as well as you would expect.

Of course they do

A company linked to Baroness Michelle Mone and her husband Doug Barrowman owes £39m in tax on top of the £148m it was ordered to pay the government for breaching a contract to supply PPE.

Documents filed by PPE Medpro's administrator on Tuesday revealed the figure owed to His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
