Wow, UK has lost freedom of speech

In UKia? Sounds about right.
I think you're missing the subtext of Darat's comment. It's a reference to football hooliganism where people are often arrested for taking part in riots while wearing the colours of their football team. It's why there are quote marks around "for". It's a way of illustrating how vacuous the claim that a man was arrested "for" wearing a star of David when all of the evidence shows that he was arrested while wearing a star of David for repeatedly breaching the conditions of the protest.

Exactly, so why was the guy with an offensive Jewish Star arrested?
For repeatedly breaching the conditions of the protest. Can't you read?

Wearing a Magen David is not offensive or fight provoking.
Context matters.

Which you should have understood by the time you became an adult.

Wearing a Star of David is not OF ITSELF offensive.

Praying silently is not OF ITSELF threatening or harassment.

Wishing someone well and hoping that their house doesn't burn down sometime in the next week isn't of itself a threat, but could be given context.

Why did the officer keep bringing up the Star of David?

Here is the Met's response:

We understand the concerns raised, but the claim this man was arrested for wearing a star of David necklace is not true. He was arrested for allegedly repeatedly breaching Public Order Act conditions that were in place to keep opposing protest groups apart.

The conditions required protesters from the pro-Israel group Stop the Hate to remain in one area with protesters from the pro-Palestinian group IJAN required to remain in a separate area.

The man told officers he was acting as an independent legal observer but his actions are alleged to have breached the conditions in place, and to have gone beyond observing in an independent and neutral way to provoking and, as such, actively participating as a protester.

Over the course of an hour, the man is alleged to have continuously approached the area allocated to IJAN, getting very close to protesters to film them and provoking a reaction. Officers had to intervene at least four times to ask the man to return to the Stop the Hate area as required by the conditions.

When he failed to do so after multiple warnings, he was arrested.
So, how did they know he was opposing that protest group. What could possibly have given them that idea? Could it have been something he was wearing?

The problem I see with arrests like this is the optics... there is wave of anti-Semitism running through the UK at the moment, as is apparent when you read some of the dreadful comments being made by members of certain councils with large Muslim populations.

This type of arrest makes it look like Jews' rights to protest is being abrogated, and are subservient to Muslims' right to same...it looksike the Police are taking sides. Of course, it's not the case, but it only has to look like it to give ammunition to those who would take advantage.

Meanwhile, why is this douchrbag free to stir up violence and racial hatred...
... easy to answer really... politicians are afraid of his sway with their voters.
I don't know who RemovePaywall | Free online paywall remover is, nor do I know why you consider them to be a douchebag. Is it because they access articles without having to pay or log in? Is it because they work on Bloomberg and hundreds more?

I totally get being annoyed by content thieves, but I don't see how that would have sway enough with voters to scare politicians, unless the voters are all content creators and/Bloomberg or some of the hundreds more.

Also, what violence and racial hatred have they stirred up? As far as I can see this is some bog standard vanilla content theft, no more, no less.

Gosh, who would do such a thing?

He didn't. It looks to me like he brought it up once and discussed it in the context of disproving the guy's claim to be an impartial observer.

Which was explained to you already:

He brought it up for like 5 minutes total of an hour long interview, and he seemed to be saying "dude... you said you were an impartial legal observer and there you were displaying one side of the protests symbol while approaching the adversary. Can't you see that it was provoking a fight, when you agreed to be a neutral observer?"
