Trump's Second Term

Trump still preparing to go to heaven. He's going to do it! The art of the deal.

Most humans are good most of the time because they actually want to be good as they gain a sense of reward from doing so or feel bad about not doing so. It's just how we evolved as social animals.

Alternative strategies are available of course, for example psychopaths, who lack any desire to be good, but typically learn to behave in appropriate ways to fit in.

...Yes, I have to face the fact that the real Donald Trump is much more sane than I have thought for a while, and if a quote puts him in a bad light, it is probably the quote that is fake.
If a quote puts 'the real' trump in a bad light it's probably a fake quote? Was this post a parody?''

Seriously, what trump did say was, Meta is planning a massive $50 billion new data center in Louisiana. (Meta says $10 billion.) trump held up an image he claimed he was given by Mark Zuckerberg showing the 'new plant' superimposed on an image of Manhattan. trump said, "I built shopping centers and for $50 million, you can build a very nice shopping center,” said Trump. “So, I never understood, when they said $50 billion for a plant, I said, ‘what the hell kind of a plant is that?’ But when you look at this, you understand why it’s $50 billion.”

Google AI says, "For perspective, the site's 2,250 acres is about one-seventh the size of Manhattan."

There you see: the fake quote was not necessary: his own quotes are enough.

However, the real quote presents Trump as a person that has no sense of numbers, or proportions. It is very possible that someone handed him the photo for a laugh to see if he would believe it. He did.

“The American people did not give President Trump a mandate. It was the closest election in history.”

Trump: 2,633 counties
Harris: 427 counties

At some point, people have got to wake the hell up.

How can Harris claim it was close? How many countries did Harris win? None.

Trump: 1 country; the USA
Harris: 0 countries.

That's infinity percent more countries voted for Trump than voted for Harris. How can anyone say that was close? [/sarcasm]

LA County California Population: Approximately 9,600,000

Loving County Texas Population: Approximately 66

Had the same nonsense after Bush "won" the surface area votes in 2000 and 2004. Number of counties is a terrible metric for determining a mandate.

Chicago will be saved, and this FBI will continue to crush violent crime there, and all around the country. Heading to the Windy City now.

TBF, rules of the game are set. Crying about it after you lose is silly.
Unless I'm misunderstanding you here, this isn't 'crying about the rules,' it's disputing someone who responds to the true statement that by numbers of votes the election was won by a small margin, with 'no, the election wasn't close, he was elected by the largest margin ever = has a mandate from the nation' using a misleading metric.

The part I'm always finding wild is that rural voters have an unquestionably, intentionally disproportionate say in these elections and yet seem to build their approach on the impression that they are oppressed underdogs in this.

ETA: Isn't the electoral college system the original DEI, really? They wanted to Include rural concerns rather than just city ones (Diversity!), and found a way to give them a hand up that they would not have if all votes were treated the same (Equity!!). OoooOOOooooOo

I couldn't find a news article but Google AI said:
"Donald Trump has built or been involved in a number of properties that include retail space, but he is not known for constructing traditional standalone shopping centers or malls. Instead, his approach has been to incorporate high-end retail into the lower levels of his luxury towers, hotels, and residential buildings."

Trump Plaza in New Rochelle (NY) is about as close to a shopping center that I could find. A few things: trump didn't build it, a well-known area real estate developer, Cappelli Enterprises, did. trump sold them the right to use his name. The cost wasn't "$50 million," it was reported to be $250 million. The trump organization did have the management contract when the building was completed. But that contract was terminated by the board of the condominium owners in 2021.

A $50 million shopping center? Nope.

HIRONO: Did you approve closing the Homan bribery investigation?

BONDI: The DOJ and FBI conducted a thorough review and found no credible evidence of wrongdoing. You were also on video outside the WH protesting with a group called Casa where antifa members were. Does that mean you're a member of antifa?

Hirono: "I have to conclude that, since no wrongdoing was determined, that Homan kept the money. And I hope he will put that on his tax returns as income."

Ok, I know this isn't true, but it's still funny as hell (italics is mine):

OSLO — Donald J. Trump [aka the fat clown] reportedly “exploded with rage” on Tuesday after the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the 2025 Peace Prize to California Governor Gavin Newsom.

In its official statement, the Nobel committee praised Newsom for “demonstrating his dedication to the principle of peace by preventing an armed conflict between California and Oregon.”
Though the committee did not bestow its prize on Trump, it did recognize him with a laser printed “certificate of participation.”

“Deciding who will win the Peace Prize is an exhausting and stressful process,” the committee stated. “Donald Trump’s entry gave us many hours of welcome laughter.”

"There's no reason to be good if there's not something in it for me" is quintessential Trump- even religion is a deal.
