Not ignoring anything. And we wish you would stop ignoring rebuttals and challenges, and repeating yourself. You can't always get what you want.

Then you didn't understand them. That's sadder. Not ignoring anything.
No, I completely understood them. Then you didn't understand them. That's sadder.
Benevolent authoritarianism is NOT a thing, yet people keep trying it.People end up in prison for posting "hurty words" on the internet & many members of the public cannot work out why that is. If only we had more politicians, journalists and social media commentators, who could simply explain why that has happened. Instead, because it gets more attention, we have too many of those people stirring up confusion and discontent.
Since the beginning of time, in every country that has ever existed, if there is spreading, national rioting, the government and judiciary clamp down on what is a serious crime against the state, inciting the rioters.
Do you therefore hold that someone should be allowed to campaign i.e. use their freedom of expression to explain why and how this policy should be enacted and if legally enacted by the legislation and enforced by a fair judiciary would result in people being legally executed for simply existing?Sounds like you are saying that the ideas of Nazism cannot be defeated they can only be hidden & censored. That's a pretty sad commentary on British society.
Why don't you think the values of freedom and tolerance and respect can defeat the values of Nazism in an open debate?
Do I think idiots and morons should be able to campaign for forced euthanasia for the mentally ill?Do you therefore hold that someone should be allowed to campaign i.e. use their freedom of expression to explain why and how this policy should be enacted and if legally enacted by the legislation and enforced by a fair judiciary would result in people being legally executed for simply existing?
Does it ever worry you that the parties that support your view all are populist/fascist extreme right wing, who want freedom of speech for themselves, but have made it clear that should they get to power they will:Do I think idiots and morons should be able to campaign for forced euthanasia for the mentally ill?
Sure, go ahead. They will get very little headway.
Its better than arresting them and throwing them in prison for having and spreading stupid ideas.
You've ignored my question:Not ignoring anything.
What about for the execution of Jewish people?Do I think idiots and morons should be able to campaign for forced euthanasia for the mentally ill?
Sure, go ahead. They will get very little headway.

Peacefully campaign for the forced euthanasia for the mentally ill, or black people, or Jews, or Muslims? You've ignored my question:
Do you therefore hold that someone should be allowed to campaign i.e. use their freedom of expression to explain why and how this policy should be enacted and if legally enacted by the legislation and enforced by a fair judiciary would result in people being legally executed for simply existing?
That is where we draw a different line, I do not believe Nazis (nor anyone else) should be able to campaign for their polices if those policies are for legal execution of folk for simply existing or otherwise harming them, e.g. creating ghettos, concentration camps, forced labour and so on.Peacefully campaign for the forced euthanasia for the mentally ill, or black people, or Jews, or Muslims?
Yes.
They wont get much headway and their policies will never become law.
But as long as they campaign in a legal and peaceful way, their stupid ideas are welcome to be part of public discourse.
Otherwise we have "benevolent authoritarianism" that burns books and criminalizes ideas, and that never works out well.
Unless one is lazy or stupid, and unless society has already fallen apart, bad ideas can and are always defeated on the battlefield of public debate and discourse.
You really need to bone up on your history. They wont get much headway and their policies will never become law.
Not welcome. Tolerated, at best. If you welcome them, you are one of them. But as long as they campaign in a legal and peaceful way, their stupid ideas are welcome to be part of public discourse.
*Chicago throws up hands at Hercules56*Would require amending the Constitution, of course.

What is this "constitution" he speaks of?You really need to bone up on your history.

Not familiar with the US Constitution, huh? What is this "constitution" he speaks of?
My history is just fine, thanks.
I welcome all ideas, even stupid ones. Doesn't mean I support them.
A healthy democracy doesn't fear a challenge.
