Trump's Second Term

If y'all (aka "youse guys") want to be technically accurate, you really can't call the fat clown and his maga weirdoes "NAZIS".

The correct term, for accuracy's sake, would be nazi-like, but that's just the writer in me.

Your mileage may vary of course.

ETA: I posted this in the CK thread, but I figured what hell, I'll post it here too.

In honor of one of my favorite women in all of history, I give you Jane Goodall:

What Jane Goodall said about Donald Trump

Jane Goodall, the iconic British primatologist and conservationist who died Wednesday at age 91, once compared President Donald Trump’s behavior to that of “a male chimpanzee,” while also expressing deep concern for the “divisiveness” in America.

Goodall, renowned for her chimp field research and environmental advocacy, in 2022 told MSNBC’s Ari Melber that Trump displays “the same sort of behavior as a male chimpanzee will show when he’s competing for dominance with another.”

Insofar as they only emulate the spirit of why the Nazis actually were so bad, rather than the specific policies, that's true enough. There's a reason why they're called fascists far more often, given that that's less specific, policy-wise, while still retaining much the same spirit of being evil and harmful to everyone, very much including most of those that truly supported it.

Reporter: China has not made one soybean purchase this year in the United States. I talked to a farmer yesterday who has about 1,000 acres in Iowa, who said this is killing them.

Leavitt: Supporting America's farmers and doing what is best for them is at the top of the president's priority list
Is ending the Shutdown not top of his priority list? I think we need to see this list.

If you've got some TP, you can see the list for yourself, before you flush it down the toilet of course.

The important thing is, Pete Hegseth is laughed at. HA-HA!
They're not laughing:

Naveed Shah, a veteran and activist who served as an enlisted public affairs specialist – an army journalist – uncharacteristically found himself searching for words to describe the address of the newly styled secretary of war to flag officers on Tuesday.

“A lot of the words that are coming to me aren’t fit to print,” said Shah, policy director for Common Defense, a veterans advocacy organization. “The people in that room who have served for 20, 30-plus years in uniform do not need Pete Hegseth to tell them about warrior ethos.”

[Retired army general Dana] Pittard said it was well within the authority of a defense secretary to call a meeting of generals, but that the display was “egotistical” and a waste of resources. And Trump’s subsequent comments created “a dangerous, slippery slope … to make it so partisan”, he said.

“He talked about the previous commander in chief, president Biden, and then talked about the ‘enemy within’. That is a dangerous slippery slope to be referring to that to the leaders of the US military. Very dangerous.”

Tamara Stevens, a former navy cryptological technician, said she found Hegseth’s discussion of “lethality” more alarming than anything else, given the context that Trump provided later with comments about using deployments to American cities as a training ground.

“Basically, he’s saying that we’re no better than Hamas because people are joining because they want to break things and they want to kill people,” she said. “I mean, for anyone that’s been in the military, he’s not qualified to be secretary of defense. He’s barely qualified to be a host on Fox News.

“But to say these things in front of the preeminent generals and admirals leading our military? Has he no honor, to say that we don’t belong in polite society? Maybe he doesn’t.”

Napolean (before Moscow, 1812): ◊◊◊◊, we lost! What's with all this weather?!

Hitler (Eastern Front, winter 1941): ◊◊◊◊, we lost! What's with all this weather?!

Hegseth (USA, 2025): No more climate change worship. We're done with that ◊◊◊◊.
It all makes sense now. The Nazis want to make winters go away so they can finally invade russia!

I totally agree and have thought this myself. I would add Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem and Kash Patel to the list.

In no other administration, Democratic OR Republican would these misfits -- which is basically what they are -- even be considered for these positions. Pam Bondi as US Attorney General? Are you kidding me? Pam who? And as US Attorney General Bondi has said, trump "is the greatest president in American history." The president most historians judge to be the worst, and they base it on strong reasoning. What other USAG has ever said something like that about the president under which they serve. None. And why would they?

But trump knows how to manipulate, I'll give him that. It's all about him and he assembled a crew made up of people who would never ever hold these high positions in any other administration. Yes, they are slavishly loyal which is exactly why they were picked and what he expected.
Yes, really all of them. The only person he has working for him who would be thought of as a normal pick is Marco Rubio. Maybe Scott Bessent. But after this they may well be tainted, so I don't see any of these people rocking the boat let alone getting together and saying, "Oh my god, our boss is crazy. Time to initiate the ol' 25th amendment." There is not just zero chance, there is basically negative numbers chance of that happening - it's far more likely that they will happily break any taboo or consititutional rules that prevent Trump staying in office longer.
