Trump's Second Term

The decline in royal skills of King Charles. He fails to tie a symmetrical Windsor knot. In Windsor castle! He uses a four in hand school boy knot. I cut out Trump, but someone tied his in a half windsor but with a slightly lumpy knot.

Outside of formalwear Chucky3 has always favoured the four-in-hand over a Windsor knot.

I just luuuuurve all the pearl clutching from some Merkinanaians over Trump's second state visit.

Chucky and Starmer showed him some shiny baubles (real gold'n'everything!), gave him a decent meal (no burgers and, as I pointed out earlier, some obvious digs at The Donald in the menu), probably had a hot equery wipe his arse and The Donald clapped his little hands in glee...

And yet it was you lot who voted this berk into office, not once, but twice...

Appeasement? You keep using that word, but...
UK declares war on Germany - 3 September 1939
USA declares war on Germany - December 11, 1941

You have to admit the USA does have more experience with appeasement.

3: The army splits, in which case you get a civil war, which would devastate the US and most likely drag the rest of the world into a Nuclear war. Personal weapons are again pointless during the conflict.

I again recommend the recent movie “Civil War”, which has elements of the above. A very tough and sobering watch, but I think worthwhile.

Warning: It’s quite graphic concerning the use of personal weapons in the hands of sometime psychopathic citizens.

On a somewhat more positive note, a good book showing how effective small arms can be in the hands of resistors or “partisans”.

I think that's some very basic attempt 3D chess to cause a rift between Trump and Miller. Don't get me wrong, that would be great for everyone.
But Miller and Trump are so aligned in their ability to just talk and act as if reality was optional that it is hard to believe that they are not basically on the same page, which is just: power and revenge.
Sort of agree, but not about any attempt at a rift. It's a semi-humorous description.

Miller is almost certainly the "brains" of the Trump White House outfit, because Trump sure as ◊◊◊◊ isn't. Everyone else there are abject cowards and sycophants. Miller filters Trump's input and manipulates him to his own ends. And a lot of the nasty right-wing Nazi stuff is right out of Miller's playbook. A lot of stuff, Trump could not really care less, one way or the other, e.g. solving wars. The only benefit Trump perceives is the applause he thinks he deserves for being a lazy ◊◊◊◊ as always.

Wait! Wut?

There are different sorts of knots for ties?

Bugger me! I thought there was only one, like I was forced to do for school.

Not even sure I could do that one now.

And they have names?

Some folk have far too much time on their hands, clearly.

I'm torn between wanting Trump as far away as possible rather than over here and marvelling at how Starmer seems to have latched onto how easy it is to appease Trump with shiny bling and flattery. If you can save your economy from a several percent hit just by putting up with an unwelcome jerk of a visitor for a few days, maybe that's worth swallowing your pride for.
Especially if you can palm him off on King Brian for most of it.

Why would anyone use a Windsor Knot?

Are we 1930s Dandies?

4 in Hand is the best.

If you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce, they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does

Trump: You understand and we will be reducing drug costs over the next year by not 50 or 60% but by 1000%… Because if you think of a $10 pill -- it will be raised up from 10 to 20 because it's the world versus us, the world is the bigger place.. so it will go from 10 to 20… for them which is bearable. And it will go from 10 to 20 for us.

idk i think libertarians are in favor of being as socially regressive as you’d like, if anything completely unconcerned. whereas i believe liberals and centrists support some government intervention in social matters, as long as it doesn’t impact the capitalist’s ability to profit. liberals and centrists are status quo corporatists, whereas libertarians are individualists i would say is the big difference to me.

libertarian ideology is mostly incoherent though imo so it’s coming from that perspective
Libertarianism is the ideology for those stupid enough to believe they'll be the slave owners when John Galt comes out of the gulch.

he's going to lower prices of medication, but his example is the price doubling

i think it’s pretty obvious that an economic philosophy devised by people who’s primary motivation is selfishness isn’t great. it’s the same people who imagine zombie apocalypses in which they’re always the lone survivor hero.

What would you do in a Zombie Apocalypse?

Shuffle around looking for brains to eat
