Trump's Second Term

Remember they told us what they were going to do

CBS News: Hungary’s Viktor Orbán seized control of universities rewrote the Constitution and neutered the courts. Is that what you're advocating for in the US?

JD Vance: I think Orbán made smart decisions that we could learn from in the US. (June 2024)

They've been pretty much trumpeting such for a fair while now, honestly. It was no accident that CPAC was held in Hungary and their praises for Orban are hardly new.

So yes, they told us what they want to do. They've showed us consistently what they want to do. It's long, long past the point where any reasonable doubt remains.

She is right. Despite her Epstein thing there is nothing to like about the entire congressional GOP and the party.

It's hard to like the people who constantly act to deceive, insult, exploit, persecute, and murder us, after all, all while loudly pretending to be the actual victims.

in the us i would consider a liberal a fiscal free market capitalist conservatives etc that are more socially progressive than conservatives but less than progressives. a centrist

For what it's worth, when you say this it makes me think "libertarian" more than "liberal." Not counting the centrist part, though, because the term centrist in the US is often misused or otherwise used to obfuscate/mislead and so has lost most of its descriptive value.

The USA is now a rogue state.
They don't know or care who they are blowing up.

Vance on Trump's strikes on boats: "I wouldn't go fishing right now in that area of the world."

Why can't they go fishing, VP Maybelline? You guys got something against people making an honest living and eating fish?

Nah, you just like feeding the vicious and utterly unprincipled side of your ego. This is the equivalent of a big game safari using innocent people as prey. It's wanton cruelty for the sheer heck of it. It's the USA's Gaza genocide.

She's female?
We were talking about wishes, not constitutional possibilities. :) Like Andrew, she was at one time second in line, and has dropped down the order (faster than him, of course). Unlike him, she's gives the impression of being down-to-earth and gets on with things.

idk i think libertarians are in favor of being as socially regressive as you’d like, if anything completely unconcerned. whereas i believe liberals and centrists support some government intervention in social matters, as long as it doesn’t impact the capitalist’s ability to profit. liberals and centrists are status quo corporatists, whereas libertarians are individualists i would say is the big difference to me.

libertarian ideology is mostly incoherent though imo so it’s coming from that perspective

Wow... I mean... wow...

Trump is suing a bunch of companies for the crimnal action of telling people during the elction that he would be a bad president. He's looking for $15,000,000,000.

The lawsuit has been posted and oh my sweet Jeebus it is a doozy. Posted here. Actual lawyers filed this thing... wow...
Is that real?

Is it that they know they'll lose in court so they're just playing to the crowd?

Seriously, is it real?

Which is why I would prefer Andrew.

Well you have been pretty vocal about how much you dislike non-Americans criticizing America, so this is nothing new. You also need to understand that in most cases the government is not the people. There have been very visible signs of protest including giant posters on Westminster lawns. Lets face it, the Starmer government is a disappointment, but then he focused on rebuilding an economy decimated by the Conservatives and if it means sucking up to Trump, he seems to be willing to take the risk.
I don't have a problem with non Americans criticising the US' it's the damn superior "We are so much better then you stupid ignorant Yanks? attitude I have problems with; but I doubt you can see that.
And I maintain the risk Starmer it taking will end up ending badly;sort like the risk Chamberlaina took cozying up to Hitler.

I have always been more sympathetic to a British monarcy then many here because so much British History and Culture have been tied in with it but I am having second thoughts.
And I am wondering if the people defending Starmer;s appeaement of Trump would be quite so understanding if it were a Tory PM.

The US voters made this mess the rest of the world has to deal with it as best they can. As detestable as Trump is he is still the US President and one with an ego that needs to be stroked to at least slow down the rate of stupid/malicious things he does.
You really think that will slow down the rate of evil things Trump does.
Appeasment never works.
Pretty clear you hate the United Statesl and I suspect this was the case along time before Trump.you
