Yes it did apply to industry. The owners either did as they were told or they would find they no longer owned a company or their company was not getting raw materials and contracts.
Everything was controlled by the state but not in the same way as the Soviets did it.

  • Dr. Debra Houry, deputy director and chief medical officer.
  • Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases
  • Dr. Daniel Jernigan, director of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases
This is bad. Very bad. That's a lot of talent leaving all at once. Further, Kennedy seems moving public health in the States to Lysenkoism, which is the replacement of scientific rigour with state-approved pseudoscience. Lysenkoism caused the deaths of millions by prolonging famines. Kennedy may end up doing the same by gutting public health in the US.

The new head of the CDC is Jim O'Neill, who, unlike Monarez, has no training in medicine or infectious disease. He is a former speechwriter for the health department, during the Bush years, who went on to work for tech investor and conservative megadonor Peter Thill.

During the Covid pandemic, O’Neill voiced public support for unproven treatments that were not supported by scientific evidence, including ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, as well as vitamin D as a supposed “prophylaxis”.
