Trump's Second Term

His take over of DC is 'very exciting' to him.

Expect it in your neighbourhood soon.

USA is now a military dictatorship.

Trump: "To me, DC is very exciting. And a lot of people say, where is he going from there? Well, I have calls from politicians begging me to go to Chicago, begging me to go to New York, begging me to go to Los Angeles ... "

"... begging me to go to Hell."

These the same people who keep whining about state ownership and big government, and are horrified of everything with the tiniest resemblance to socialism?
Relax! It's not going to be state ownership, it's going to be personal ownership by Trump. Other companies would be wise to gift him ten percent now, if they want to stay in business. Or they'll find themselves "under investigation".

Silly me, I forget the US is a monarchy now --the personal property of King Dump.

Can I have my Pardon now please?

Maxwell: The president was never inappropriate with anybody. And the times that I was with him, he was a gentleman in all respects.

Adapting an old joke about Michael Jackson ...

Knock, knock.
Who's there?
Donald Trump.
Donald Trump who?
Good job Miss Maxwell. Here's your pardon.

Watters on Newsom

Watters: Nancy Pelosi is his mentor. You never want to have a female mentor if you are a guy. It is obvious. He is not strong enough. Democrats really want power. They want an FDR. They want a Trump.

Again with the “he-man women-haters club” manly-man shtick from this blowhard. Speaking of which, the protesteth too much is strong with Jess. I’m beginning to think he’s smoked no small number of dicks in his day.

Trump: I saw one poll that had us at 19% favorable on what we're doing with Washington. Then I saw another one says it's 94% favorable, and I can tell you the 94% is correct. The others are fake, just fake news

Let me guess: the 19% one was a poll of constitutional lawyers?

Seriously though, although he blusters about a made-up 94% we know he's seen the 19% approval rating and it delights me to know he knows that's happening.

NYT: The Trump administration on Friday ordered that all construction stop on Revolution Wind, a $4 billion wind farm off the coast of Rhode Island that is already mostly built.

Matthew Giacona, the acting director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, issued a letter on Friday to Orsted, the Danish company building the wind farm, ordering it to “halt all ongoing activities” because of unspecified issues.

But having mentioned the made-up 94% he now believes it.

I wonder what small government, faux-libertarians think about this overreach?

The United States of America, alternative energy backwater.

I do prefer our kinds of monarchies up here in Norden (however much I want them gone), with monarchs who have absolutely no say in anything, except possibly what clothes to put on in the morning. All they have to do is look nice (a bit hit and miss, but I think they try their best, and I am ready to applaud good intentions in anyone), and generally saying very little. Our king is actually quite good at saying nothing - good thing too, considering what he says when he does talk - maybe he could teach Trump how to STFU?

I think our monarch (and heir) both have too much influence on legislation. But it's far better than an elected king

Illustrating Trump's twits...
Trump: One of the things we are going to be redoing as your parks. I know more about grass than any human being anywhere in the world. We are going to be regrassing your parks, new sprinklers systems. It will look like Trump national golf club.

Grass has a life. You know that? Grass has a life. We have a life, and grass as a life. The grass here died about 40 years ago

That picture shows a tiny part of a National Park where the native grass is not up to Trump's golf course standards.

The mountains on the horizon are in a National Forest that suffered a wildfire last year. I guess the leaves should have been raked. The Trump administration has fired or retired about 7400 Forest Service employees. Those who remain will just have to rake faster.
Back to fossil fuel, Wind destroys everything.

Trump: all They are not fired by wind, by the way, because wind doesn't work. It destroys everything. It looks horrible. It's a very expensive form of energy. We are not doing wind. We are going back to fossil fuel. We can’t be foolish

The symbol at the lower left says
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR
BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT

A lot of BLM employees have been forced out, and Trump is proposing a huge cut to BLM's budget, so it may take the remaining BLM employees a while to get around to removing all of the signs that record historical facts Trump wants us to forget.

Our king (and his heiress) has no influence at all thankfully. And the gratitude I feel has nothing to do with the incontrovertible truth that he is an utter nincompoop, he could be the second coming of Douglas Adams, and I'd still be against the monarchy (unless he was Douglas Adams and promised to write more books. I might reconsider the whole idea in that case), but his nincompoopery does not help. To have an orange nincompoop with all of the powers of a US president is a nighmare come true.
