Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

Edited to add: Upon reflection, I can see how someone who wasn't paying close attention might have assumed I was defining non-return removals as anything that causes a noncitizen to transfer out of the country from internal territory in response to a formal order of removal. What I was actually saying is that non-return removals are the only way to remove an immigrant from the interior of the US that involves a formal order of removal.
I accept the blame for phrasing my statement so poorly that someone who was looking for some way to disagree would find a way to disagree with it.
I did misinterpret what you meant. But the reason I didn't jump to this meaning is because I can't see the relevance of it. It's a true statement, but what does it matter to the issue under discussion when we know that the number of internal removals plummeted?

From the news article:

Under the current administration, ICE is committed to restore integrity to our nation’s immigration system by holding all individuals accountable who illegally enter the country or overstay the terms of their admission. This is true regardless of what restaurant you own or political beliefs you might have.”

Trumpkins, take heed. Wearing a red armband hat won't protect you. The leopards eat all the faces.

Wait... are you suggesting it would be better if Trump made exceptions to immigration laws for people who support him politically? I would have thought that would upset you.

A college degree has never been a requirement. And there's more than a touch of elitism in looking down on people without one.
The utter laxness of recruitment of law enforcement personnel has always surprised me. Becoming a basic police officer here is at least a two year course, the equivalent of a basic college degree. And that's just a normal beat cop. If you want anything specialized (like immigration) add several years to that. But well, you get what you pay for I guess.

Naw, Zig, not people without a degree, just people who couldn't earn one if they
tried for 6 or 10 years. Looking down and pitying, most of the time.

The real elitists are the proudly ignorant. Deny that all you like.

I would think the expansion of a ill-defined quasi-military force for political uses by an off-the-rails president who prioritizes personal loyalty to himself is itself a matter of much greater concern than imagining what attitudes various sets of the population may or may not have towards each other. But I guess it's more fun to get mad about what you think other people may think when they may be thinking about still other people, in general.

All I have to say is I'm glad I'm not the one supporting this ◊◊◊◊. History is not going to look too kindly on these events and I'm glad my grandkids will never say, "My grandfather was a Trump supporter". I can't imagine a worse way to be remembered by my family, not that they'd choose to mention me at all if I were one.

I'm thinking about 18ers with badges, vests, guns, and free ammo, making
big bucks to ride around in armored vigilante bands, wearing masks and obeying
orders.

I'm also thinking that it may be bias on my part to imagine them as mostly coming from my
social stratum: rural proletarians, aka mudsills, a class that never expects
to be in charge of anything. I'm thinking that such raw youths (hell, they can't even grow
decent throat beards) might, possibly, be a tad inclined to excess, especially
when dealing with unarmed men, women, and children.

Those are the kinds of things I'm thinking these days.
Whaddya think about that?

I wonder how far in the Nazi's were before they started recruiting kids?

I am genuinely concerned that 18 year olds, all hopped up on "get those immigrants out!" juice, will end up shooting innocent people. We already know they're plucking innocent people off the streets and throwing them in jail till they feel confident of their status. How long until an innocent person gets shot?

Anyone remember the V for Vendetta scene with the little girl? I know people like Zigg will defend them no matter what they do, but this has all of the signs of ending terribly.

Fascism is always the politics of teenage punks. It appeals to their narcissistic nihilism. Musso
made ready use of youth gangs, as did Hitler.

Down there in the lowermost classes, a lot -- a HELLUVA lot -- of young guys
never mature beyond 15 or 16 years of age. Why should they? Whats in it for them,
after all? Offer them employment involving sadistic action and uniformed swagger,
and they're yours. All the way to Stalingrad, if you play them along.

They'd rather staff Dachau or Alligator Alc, of course.

I take it the owner has a criminal record - a murder or two or something like that?
Not yet, but MAGAists will invent some to justify his deportation to Rwanda Colombia Alligator Auschwitz Mar-a-Lago whatever ◊◊◊◊ hole these pricks want to punish brown people in.

ICE slam head of local nurse into ground during arrest—she's a U.S. citizen & community volunteer.

Agents charged at her so she dropped a poster——they claim she "attacked" them with that poster.
She is well known—and targeted in advance for false arrest—according to fellow volunteers of the Community Self Defense Coalition.
Amanda Trebach had already reported an earlier attack on August 4—when Border Patrol agents boxed her car in after she documented their caravan arriving.
She was arrested outside the Terminal Island staging area for ICE at the Port of Los Angeles in California.
