General UK politics VIII - The Last Tory

Is there anyone here who didn't go to Grammar School? :D
I went to the local comp. Got a string of 'A's in my GCSEs, did A levels at the local sixth form, went to Uni (first in my family to do so) and got a BSC (Hons) degree, and have a relatively senior position in what would probably be termed part of the establishment. My kids also went to the local comp etc and have Masters and Phds and tidy jobs / are still at Uni.

The expat gammons over here are overjoyed that they will, again, be able to buy Richmond* pork sausages in the local shops - instead of having to go to Morrisons in Gibraltar and take their chances with Spanish customs on the way back home. Yes, there are a fair number of Brexiteers living here.

*For the non-brit people, I haven't eaten meat for years but my carnivorous friends tell me they are ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ rank.

Nostalgic comfort food, I guess. Not actually good, but fondly remembered. The sort of thing Yes Minister joked about the EEC not allowing us to call "sausages" any more and suggested "emulsified high-fat offal tubes".

I looked them up: a whopping 42% pork.

Not a very long list; care to expand on it?

Or are you expecting me to spend time doing the job for you?

I think we can add 'lazy' to your description.

Thanks to the feature that can not be named, in my feed it looked like you were picking a fight with Carrot Flower King!

Richmond Sausages are excellent.

Foreign Secretary David Lammy says the UK has suspended negotiations with the Israeli government on a new free trade agreement.

Speaking in the Commons, he said: “We have suspended negotiations with this Israeli government on a new free trade agreement. We will be reviewing co-operation with them under the 2030 bilateral roadmap.

“The Netanyahu government’s actions have made this necessary.”
