And Socialism has so wide a range of meaing that it has become hard to understand what the hell you are talking about. COvers everything from most Eu Countires to nightmares like North Korea.

Japan actually formally declared war on the US just a couple of hours after Pearl Harbor.
BTW the famous 14 part message which was intercepted and decoded before the Japanese Embassy in Washington had it was NOT a declaration of war. It did not even break off dipolomatic relations; it just ended the discussions the US and Japan were having about Japan's agression on Mainland Asia. of course that ambiguiry was deliberate;it was to keep the US confused as to Japan's ecact intentions until after the Pearl Harbor attacks begun.
Why Japan even botheed to try to have a fig leaf over it's suprise attack on Pearl Harbor is puzzling. Evenif the qr part message had been delivered on time the US public still wuld have conisered Pearl Harbor a sneaky surprised attack and would not have made any difference in the US public's reaction.
The Formal declration of war by Japan was a seperate document announded AFter the Attack on Pearl Harbor.

Not like it's actually been some new or secret thing. The US right wing was pro-Nazi (or a hairsbreadth away) during the WW2 era. There was even a pro-Nazi Republican coup attempt, for that matter.

Of course! The understanding of far too many boils down to Nazi=bad. The reality is more complex, of course, though that complexity doesn't change that the Nazi Party was very bad overall, with little in the way of actual silver linings. Much of that had more to do with implementation and leaning hard into the far right portion of the propaganda and claimed policy positions, though, not that you'd catch right wingers admitting to that, normally, though. Of course, I've heard crap like Universal Healthcare was a Nazi thing and therefore bad! The left likes Universal healthcare so the left are the real Nazis!:rolleyes:

In reality, the fascism playbook had something or other that nigh everyone liked, at last check. One of the things that makes it actually dangerous is that it is superficially attractive, even if that's pretty much a cover-up for a heck of a lot of extremely rotten crap in practice, just about all of it from the far right.

Yes they do but Trump will find money and resources to fight fires in red states.

He wants to introduce a system of patronage. If you want the federal funds and/or services you are entitled to then you have to provide Trump with support or kickbacks or some similar thing. Trump and his goons don't mind handing out the cash, they resent that they don't have control over it and/or they don't get something in return.

That sounds like a positive to me. When judges no longer want explanations, that's a serious negative.

It would only prove that God is fine with sweeping away the righteous with the wicked (probably over the 200% tariffs on EU alcohol), just as he did at Sodom. It is not for us to judge.
