I was watching YouTube videos this morning and Seth Myers covered a CNN report that highlighted that Trump's approval rating was the second lowest ever (only he has done worse).

I was shocked to find that his approval rating is still positive which highlights a couple of things to me.

MAGA isn't a 20% fringe, it represents close to 50% of the US population. Any analysis that fails to take this into account is flawed. As such Trump and Musk are doing exactly what a large minority of people want them to do

Some so called swing voters are nothing of the sort.

I think there is a large group of people in the US who are totally unplugged from politics. They've just switched it off. For those people, the disaster unfolding in front of them will take some more time to sink in.

A CBC news journalist decided to get opinions on Trump's trade war on both sides of the border. On the Canadian side, he found no shortage of opinions but just across the border in Buffalo, NY, he said he had trouble finding people who knew what tariffs were and most hadn't heard anything about them.

You never know where “the bottom” is. And for individual stocks there may be no bottom. I learned my lesson with Enron and Pan Am, buying on the way down assuming they had to recover eventually. Hint: they didn’t.

I learned that lesson the hard way too with Nortel years ago. The only bottom is 0

The President is exempt from the ethics regulations that prevent federal employees from using their positions to officially promote commercial products or services. This is why it's very important to be careful who you elect to that office.

You may be thinking of the Hatch Act. That prevents government buildings and resources from being used for partisan political purposes. It doesn't say anything about commercial activity. And the President is exempt from that law too.

The activists in black robes identify as judges but they are just democratic operatives and they are going for broke. They hand out injunctions like they are M&Ms instead of extraordinary judicial remedies to be used in extraordinary circumstances. They have tossed judicial norms, legal precedent and sanity out the window.
And to be honest, I see no good solutions. How are we supposed to combat these radical communist loons?

My (limited) experience of wines from BC tells me you'll be okay without CA wines. My similarly limited experience of wines from Ontario makes me recommend wines from BC.
