Trump's Second Term

The Republican party, including many who are still in office, has historically been the one most vocal about standing up to Russia, for having the strongest military in the world, and being the world's policeman. This, I think, had been true until Trump. It's very new.

It also has nothing to do with corruption, authoritarianism, homophobia, or kleptocracy. None of those contradict being strong against Russia.

It has occurred to me that a motivation for Trump's actions is based on nothing other than opposing anything Biden was in favor of. "Biden says the sky is blue? Nope, it's gray." Even the things they agreed on (Tik-Tok) he now disagrees with.

But Trump and the Republicans are not the only one who does this. It has gotten to the point that the two parties have to stake out opposing positions on every issue and members are not allowed to agree about anything.

I think it was Bob Dole who said in an interview that I heard that the Democrats were his opponents, not his enemies. Both parties want the best for the country, they just disagree with how to get there. Then he went on a speaking tour with Clinton.

but he was friendly towards putin when biden was still a twinkle in his eye

I suspect Musk has some grand scheme to eliminate the dollar as currency and convert the nation to "crypto". This would, of course, cause a global economic collapse unprecedented in human history but, as the silver lining to the disaster, would almost certainly result in a violent bloodbath of a revolution in which all the oligarchs would be torn apart by angry mobs.

bingo, it’s a big pump and dump on the tax payer. complete control of the treasury, store value in crypto, then transfer it all to themselves. they’ve been setting it up since day 1

edit

they’re both experienced crypto scammers, they want to eliminate capital gains in crypto, and they’re surrounded by crypto influencers and developers. none of them are particularly smart either.

Confirming Kash Patel to lead the FBI is yet another example of GOP cowardice.
Which is why I am huge advocate of term limits for congressional members.
If they knew they would only be there for a few years, and could not make a 20 year lift career out of it, maybe they not be obessed with Getting reelected.

I'm not going to change your mind, you aren't going to change mine but to me this is just putting lipstick on a pig. The party itself is the direct cause of the issues going on right now and someone saying "I am apart of that party" would just be embarrassing to me. I'm not saying you guys are right or wrong, I'm not here to judge anyone, and it's really none of my business but if the Dems starting doing ◊◊◊◊ like this, I wouldn't identify as a Dem either. I'd identify as nothing.
It's perhaps worth noting that if the Dems started doing ◊◊◊◊ like this, I wouldn't identify as a Dem, either. With that said, it's not hard to understand that an official affiliation is not the same thing as an action, though. I am officially affiliated with the United States, for example, and I don't particularly intend to abandon it, despite everything. I have reasons to stay affiliated with the United States, though, and my attachment to the Dems is solely one of alignment, not loyalty to the Party itself or direct concern for it.
