Ed Does anyone here believe that Princess Diana's car crash was suspicious?

My late-cousin was the hotel manager of a well-known luxury hotel in Helsinki. No way did he get £8K in tips per month. The idea is ridiculous.
Thinking of hotel staff I have tipped over the years (or fretted over whether it was expected in whichever country it was) I don't believe I ever tipped the manager.

And so was MI5, and MI6 and M15.

Were any of those pursuing paparazzi real or were they all secret agents security officers in disguise?

It is easy enough to tail someone. There is radio contact. The theory is that the Fiat was waiting at a junction ready for the Merc's arrival. It'd only take a pap to walkie talkie ahead and there they are. When we used to take club away coach to a football game we'd often be joined by a police escort of motor cycles waiting ahead at various junctions of the away town. (Who knew we were royalty?).

NB the only point being made here is that your belief it is not possible to plan for the car to arrive at that moment is not quite correct. I am not saying that it was the plan.

Henri Paul was a spy. How else did 200,000 land in his back account!? He was paid 30,000 a year.

The NSA was spying on Diana.

Cameras do mysteriously fail to function when famous people die.

To be honest, I have no idea how you are even disputing this. This is information you can just Google.
Which cameras?

You keep saying cameras fie but never tell us which ones.

How does posting Hewitt to Germany get him out of the way?

Flights to the UK are regular, there are five different flights every hour from various German cities to various UK cities and they take less than 2 hours.
If you don't mind a longer journey you can drive or get a train.

Why didn't they just kill him like all the others?

Why aren't they killing all the people exposing the conspiracy?

Why aren't you dead yet?

Exactly what?

The guy was working security at a VIP hotel in Paris. Is there anything surprising about his parents tale of a Saudi prince having tipped him $500 for taking his wife and kids shopping? I have no problem believing it was probably a job where a lot of stuff got done for VIP guests, in cash, always discreetly, and a modest share of that cash rubbed off on Henri Paul.

Therefore he was a spy.

Really? Because he had $150,000 in the bank? Spies are rich, you reckon?

Whose theory, and what was supposed to happen then?

If you proposed an evil plan where the driver of a small hatchback was ordered to try to make the driver of a passing 2 ton luxury car flinch and maybe he'd lose control and maybe then something something maybe they'll all just die, Doctor Evil would feed you to the mutant sea bass.

Well he seems like a delusional fantasist and/or grifter who joined forces with the other delusional fantasist Al Fayed, and the "really bad things" were that he lost his job and wasn't allowed to get royalties for his book for a period.

Colour me deeply unimpressed.

Also even if his "bright lights" idea was indeed something that MI6 considered doing, he provides no evidence that it is actually possible and he provides no evidence it could have been used on Diana let alone that it was.

One lone nut who did indeed work for MI6 does not evidence make.

The simplest answer is that he was in the pay of Fayed or even the French secret services, given the type of high status characters passing through the Paris Ritz. Tips? He was not a low grade bellboy hauling luggage to rooms.

Could have been a papparazza. There is a lot of money to be earnt from that type of pap. "Di and Dodi", just newly engaged - supposedly - and what have you. There was paintwork scraped on the Merc which was used to identify what type of vehicle had swerved into it.

Also further reading that article indicates that he walked back his own nonsense later:

"At the Coroner's Inquest into the death of the Princess, on 13 February 2008, speaking by video-link from France, Tomlinson conceded that, after the interval of 16 or 17 years, he "could not remember specifically" whether the document he had seen during 1992 had in fact proposed the use of a strobe light to cause a traffic accident as a means of assassinating Milošević, although use of lights for this purpose had been covered in his MI6 training. On being told that no MI6 file on Henri Paul had been found, Tomlinson said that it "would be absurd after 17 years to say I can positively disagree with it, but... I do not think the fact that they did not manage to find a file rules out anything either". He said he believed MI6 had an informant at the Paris Ritz but he could not be certain that this person was necessarily Henri Paul."

So absolutely no evidence for any of his nonsense at all.

In what universe is that the simplest answer?

You were claiming the crash was caused deliberately. Are you saying a paparazzo caused the crash on purpose? If not, why are you changing the subject?

Also, 'papparazza'; were you trying to suggest the driver was female, or what?
