The fact that they were able to arrest and deport over 500 illegal immigrants in 3 days is pretty significant. The fact that they've already made more than 3,000 arrests is also pretty significant.

True, but at that rate, he'll get less than 600,000 deported before his term ends.

I think the headline is wrong, but the US did have a bit of a problem getting to Guatemala because apparently not everyone would let trump use their airspace:

Trump's first deportation flight to Belo Horizonte in Brazil landed earlier this week, according to a local Brazilian news source. That flight carried 88 Brazilian migrants and an untold number of migrants from other countries. Both Bazil and the United States have had an agreement in place on deportations since 2017.

They didn't cross over the southern border. They flew in to international airports. Then overstayed their visas thus making them "illegal immigrants". Which is an important part of the facts that Trump never mentions. It's all because of the borders. Even someone on a transit visa can just walk out of LAX and keep going. I was surprised when I flew to Canada via LAX how easy it would be.

Two military jets landed in Guatemala City on Friday carrying deported migrants from Tucson, Ariz., and El Paso, according to local migration authorities and the American Embassy in Guatemala.

The U.S. Embassy in Guatemala could not confirm how many more military jets were expected to transport deportees to the country or on what timeline.

I have to travel to Chicago on Monday with a colleague to visit a supplier for a factory acceptance test. He is Columbian by birth and fairly dark-skinned although he's been a Canadian citizen for over 10 years. He called me last night and said he is afraid to go and I don't blame him. I told him to think about it and if he doesn't want to go I'm fine with it.

If he does go, he plans to stick to the company we are visiting and the hotel without going anywhere else in public. I told him to carry his passport on his person at all times. Its too bad because he is a big basketball fan and I got us tickets to the Bulls game on Monday night but there's no way he will risk going.

Honestly, I hope this is my last trip to America for some time as well. Its sickening to see what's happening.

People are cancelling doctor appointments because they're afraid their immigration status will get them arrested. It won't -- healthcare providers don't ask that and aren't required to report it to authorities if they find out (just like drug use)-- but the fear is there. So now we have sick people -- including kids-- going without medical care out of fear.

The whole point of America being the "greatest country in the world" is that it should be a nice place to be. If it's not then what's the point? Are we going to be great if we make our own country so unpleasant nobody would even want to be here?

Denver Public Schools Chief Defies Trump, Orders ICE Off His Campuses

The chief administrator of Denver Public Schools has defied President Donald Trump, saying that ICE will not be allowed on his campuses after the president authorized agents to conduct deportation raids at schools.

In a memo from Denver Public Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero to principals in the area, the message was simple: if ICE agents arrive, "do not allow entry into the building," as reported by KDVR.

Marrero instructed school officials to utilize the intercom to communicate with the agents. The principals were told to ask for a copy of the warrant, and if the agents did not have a warrant, they were told to tell the agents to leave, as reported by 9News.

Hotline Launched to Report ICE Deportations

Puente Arizona, a grassroots group that advocates for immigrants, launched the hotline to help warn people of Border Patrol activity, dispel false rumors and prevent immigrant families from being torn apart, Natally Cruz, the group's director, told azcentral.

The group sends text message alerts to warn people to avoid an area if ICE or Border Patrol activity is confirmed, Cruz said. Additionally, when such activity is verified, the group organizes teams to visit the location, inform individuals of their rights and document any arrests.

"The idea is that if we do see them to also alert other organizations so they can put it out on social media so our community members can avoid the area," Cruz told the outlet. The number for the hotline is 480-506-7437.

Love you guys and we have visited the USA many times and enjoyed it. But we (i.e. our family) have decided we are not visiting again until Trump is dead and gone, and this MAGA stupidity is reversed. It's just too dangerous now.
