He's a cop. I'd bet money on itwell for all the criticism he's getting he hasn't been caught yet
But the victim was white! He's a cop. I'd bet money on it
I'm not a professional assassin, just a keen amateur, but in a situation like this I'd bring two guns. Just in case. Like I always bring two pens with me when I go to the office, in case one runs out of ink. This, A pro would use a gun that was not prone to jamming.
This line of 'thinking' is so absurd that it's like an opposite Poe. Reality emulating parody.- We recently found out, the last day or so, that we have 58,000 known criminals who have crossed our border illegally. Not that there would be any connection, naturally, with this, but it makes the work harder for NYPD, because they're already dealing with the rampant crime uptick from those individuals who broke our first law coming here illegally.
- Yeah, absolutely correct!
Your employer doesn't provide you with a pen? Cheap bastards! In the last office I worked in, we had so many pens, we could have run a side business selling pens and the home office would never have noticed!I'm not a professional assassin, just a keen amateur, but in a situation like this I'd bring two guns. Just in case. Like I always bring two pens with me when I go to the office, in case one runs out of ink.
especially since undocumented workers are actually a good source of information for NYPD. They avoid interacting with government agencies typically, but when cops come asking questions, they comply as much as they can. Mainly out of fear of pissing off the cops. This line of 'thinking' is so absurd that it's like an opposite Poe. Reality emulating parody.
I'm pretty sure that apples-to-apples we spend a good deal less. That 40% number is likely all govt spending compared to GDP, but of course only a fraction of it goes on healthcare. The NHS spent about 22% of the tax revenue in 2022 and direct taxes (income tax etc) contributed less than half of that. We're a little over OECD average for healthcare spend at 11.3% of GDP while the US is a distinct outlier at 16.6%.... So if you don't mind me asking : we hear over here that you pay nearly 40% of your gross income in taxes that fund this. Is that +/- correct? If so, you're paying a lot more for your medical care than we are, although it's certainly a bonus that the poor don't have to jump through hoops.
The dollar total is not a problem. When revenue is hundreds of billions, profits will always be in the billions or the company wouldn't exist. UHC seems to run at 6% profit margin. I don't see that as excessive.lol what do you mean take a loss. they're making billions of dollars. with a b. they could cut their margins in half and still be making billions of dollars. with a b.
doctors aren't making $50m a year in compensation.
You can't say compensation is too high and that profits are too high. Utilization rates are up, service prices are up, healthcare provider compensation up, prescription up etc, so plan prices go up and insurance companies take the blame and shield the rest.we are concerned about profits, buyback, massive CEO compensation and at the same time very low payout rates and terrible customer service.
if you believe AT ALL in markets, providing a bad overpriced product should not make your company and top managers rich.
Margins are the way to actually judge if they have excess gains. All this blame for insurance companies when their profits amount to 2% of healthcare spending annually. A majority of people surveyed are satisfied with their health insurance. Doesn't seem the monster it's made out as.margins don't mean anything at that scale. 2.4% on an independently owned sandwich shop is homelessness. in national health insurance it's rich beyond your wildest dreams generational wealth. lol come on man
edit
and do we even want to get into the accounting shell games every single one of these giant companies in every indusry uses to hide their real profits. it's absurd to me to even hear this
So do insurance companies. It's called insurance. People seemed to have forgotten the premise and think their usage spend should match their coverage costs yearly otherwise they are getting ripped off. It fantastical thinking masquarading as virtue.doctors provide an actual service.
All you're doing is explaining why there shouldn't be health insurance companies.
you do know what the profit margin is in a perfect market economy, right ?The dollar total is not a problem. When revenue is hundreds of billions, profits will always be in the billions or the company wouldn't exist. UHC seems to run at 6% profit margin. I don't see that as excessive.

You are simping for anesthesiologists that make 470k a year average and pretend they are underpaid because they can't overcharge for rounding up service times. Then wonder why healthcare spend is so high..I've never seen someone simp for healthcare CEOs and profit margins before. It's awesome to see out in the wild and in real-time.
They seem to be genuinely surprised.'My empathy is out of network': internet reacts to health exec's killing with hate (CNN on YouTube, Dec 6, 2024)
In a CNN story that was just published about this, they note that a Facebook post that was put up by UnitedHealth Group, expressing sadness about the CEO's death, it received 62,000 reactions. 57,000 of them were laughing emojis."
