Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

oh boy, musk has been a very busy guy while this forum was down. running a pac that does illegal election interference lotteries and fake harris ads, racist trump rallies with a nazi style maga hat, setting up weird compounds, he caps it off with wanting to tank the economy

well good to have it back anyway
The astonishing thing is that he would be wiped out if the "debt bubble" was instantly deflated, his entire wealth is predicated on such financing. Does he think luxury purchases such as a Tesla vehicle would be protected in such a crash? A crash of such magnitude would destroy Tesla, X and SpaceX.

What's Musk on about with all this "PNut" stuff? Does he talk baby-talk to Trump?

it generates Clicks, and is being used as the Nasty Big Government killing your illegal pets because they might have rabies.

On the illegal lottery thing.

This is a novel defence

We're on hour three of the Elon Musk super PAC lottery lawsuit in a court in Philadelphia.

Larry Krasner has been testifying that the entire premise of the Musk lottery was a "scam" and a "grift" and "disingenuous."

The Musk team has been arguing that this was not a "lottery" because its $1 million winners were actually pre-selected based on whom would be the best spokespeople for the super PAC. Team Musk says their winners were not "random."

oh, so it wasn't an illegal lottery because it was rigged. well, my bad i guess.

i mean, it looks like that argument somehow worked.

this kind of stuff must end. we can't go on this way.

As I said, it's a novel defence.

ETA: but agreed, unless the judge gives very good arguments, I can't see how Musk could have won. Hopefully it makes the federal case against him stronger and that Trump doesn't win and quash it.

They pre-selected the winners?

In other words, the entire thing was ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. they misled their supporters?

Why am I not surprised?

It's not a lottery because there was no doubt about the result - seems legit...

I mean, for the record euthanizing PNUT was pretty ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ dumb. The guy PNUT lived with had him for something like 7 years. This might not be the thread for it, and if people have interest I'd definitely post in one about it, but that was dumb. It made absolutely no sense. It didn't "might have rabies" either. It absolutely didn't have rabies and was in general good health.

Am I missing something? They're claiming their lottery wasn't an illegal lottery because it was a fraud?
That's about the shape of it, yes. It wasn't a lottery so it could not have been an illegal lottery.

Whatever it was may have been very misleading, but may not have been illegal.

I'm not a legal expert, but it seems to me that, if you tell people that there is a chance of winning a big cash prize for some consideration, and there isn't really such a chance, then the people have cause for complaint. Of course, all they had to do was sign a petition, so maybe the consideration doesn't clear the bar for being worthy of legal redress.

Before I go to some random ass link can you give me a reason why I should read that article, who "skepchick" is and why her opinion should matter more than anyone else's?
