Kamala Harris Election Campaign

Last week, the Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz released a letter co-signed by 22 fellow Nobel Prize winning economists that stated that "Harris’ economic agenda will improve our nation’s health, investment, sustainability, resilience, employment opportunities, and fairness and be vastly superior to the counterproductive economic agenda of Donald Trump". I don't understand why Harris has not used this letter in her message, such as mentioning it in her speech on the Ellipse last night (which I attended). I have some concern that Harris is relying too much on talking about how bad a person Trump is and not enough time talking about what she will do as potus. It's not that Trump isn't a bad person, but I think that a little more positivity in her speeches might be helpful.
 
"The only way they'll win is by cheating ..." MAGA winding themselves up to throw their toys out of the pram. Encouraging, in a sense, that they're contemplating defeat.

They were carrying Trump flags, naturally. I can't imagine why anyone would have the gull to call Trump supports garbage considering there are multiple news reports of Trump voters becoming violent at polling locations because they won't take off their hats or other Trump paraphernalia.

The only thing Biden is guilty of is saying the quiet part out loud.

I don't think it will make any impact. MAGA is garbage, anyone that isn't MAGA knows it. They're the only ones offended by it. However, for some reason, Trump calling people of color garbage may have an impact.

1) Speaker at Trump rally calls Puerto Rico “garbage”.
2) MAGA response = It was a joke, get over it.
3) Biden calls MAGA “garbage”.
4) MAGA response = OUTRAGE

These are deeply unserious people.

On point 3, what I'd read was that Biden said that rally speaker's remarks were the garbage. Did Biden also call MAGA garbage?

It really doesn't matter to MAGA. They will go with Biden calling MAGA garbage, and it'll also morph into Harris and Walz also calling them garbage. It's just like the deplorables comment Hillary made.
 
There's a wide gulf between what the left and right are allowed to say about each other. The right has always been the more sensitive party.

No, I'm sure it doesn't, as they will only be listening to sources that tell them an 'editorialised' version of what Biden said. But my question wasn't a rhetorical one. As an outsider seeing only fragments of this weirdness from afar, I genuinely want to know whether Biden actually called MAGA garbage. So far as I can glean, he didn't.

If you were to read the comments and not know anything about Biden, I could understand why they think he called them garbage. He said something like, "the only garbage I see floating around is his supporters", but he was specifically referring to the standup comedian, not the entirety of his supporters.

I agree with you 100%, that's my impression as well. But how can you --- or I, or anyone other than Biden himself --- possibly state that authoritatively like that?

...Although, scratch that. That's just pettifogging and nitpicking, which is fine in general, but not now, not when faced with what the monstrosity that sits at the other side. Yeah, scratch that. ...But you know what I mean, I guess. But let's drop it, not important, not at this time, and probably not ever.
 
It isn't important. The fact is, they think it is okay to call people of color trash but clutch all the pearls if any one of them is called garbage.

Fair point, but I was trying to portray it from MAGA’s perspective vs actual reality.

Personally, I don’t care one way or the other if he said it, and I don’t think it even matters.

Anyone clutching pearls about what Biden said in the wake of all the racist drivel coming from MAGA recently can **** all the way off.
