The Tim Walz campaign, and the ******** attacks upon him.

What I really love about the Tim Walz choice for Kamala Harris's running mate. He is the antithesis of who Republicans paint Democrats to be. .

He signed legislation giving children in his state free school lunches. That's SOCIALISM!!! Those children need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

It's theft I tell you. How dare he take back what the rich rightfully stole?

What I really love about the Tim Walz choice for Kamala Harris's running mate. He is the antithesis of who Republicans paint Democrats to be. You can't exactly call Tim Walz a coastal elitist. This guy is about as middle class, middle American as anyone could possibly be.

He isn't rich. He didn't go to an Ivy League school. He is a from a small town in Nebraska. He coached a loser High School football team to the State Championship. Career military and wasn't an officer. My understanding is he's a big time hunter. He's won marksman awards.

He's disgustingly relatable to middle America. That is one thing Shapiro wouldn't have been able to pull off. Rural America doesn't trust urban America. (So how they fell in love with Donald Trump??? I still haven't figured out.)

But because he's so relatable, the attacks fall flat.

The one thing I dislike about Walz.

I can understand that. But I grew up in a poor family. We hunted and fished to eat or fill up our freezer. I don't like the idea of doing either for sport alone. If you're going to kill some poor animal, you damn well better eat it. My understanding is he enthusiastically hunts pheasant. And pheasant is one tasty bird.

I've heard it joked that Walz is going to fund Democrats' spending proposals with all the quarters he finds behind your ear, which gives a good idea what kind of vibe people are currently getting from him. (I emphasize "currently". I still have trauma from Bill Cosby)

I have no idea what that means.

Yes, if you have hunting ability and are in an economically disadvantaged class, then you might well hunt those birds for food because pheasant is pleasant for peasants. Unless you have them too frequently because incessant pheasant isn't pleasant.

My point was that Tim Walz will have an appeal to men that few Democrats do.

All that being said, back on topic. Who cares if Walz is a hunter, football, coach, or retired a few years early from the national guard, or school teacher? That's all just silly partisan bickering. Remember when it was a stain on your record to even have been in the national guard instead of the real military? Bush JR.

If you don't like Walz, then it matter if you like him or are indifferent, it won't matter. He does seem to be quite far left relative to most Americans and that really only matters in terms of what Harris is signaling with his pick as VP. Side note, I think she mostly picked him on account of he doesn't seem to want to be the president unlike say, Shapiro.

Maybe someday this thread will get back on topic. This is probably not that day.

Fine. I'll do it.

apparently, the new accessory for Trump rallies is a semen sample cup with Vance's face.

It is to mock Tim Walz for sharing him and his wife's experience with IVF.

Republicans are shooting off at Tim Walz, trying to clown the Democratic VP nominee for using IVF by carrying around cups of fake semen ... yeah, we're serious.

My younger son is the result of IVF, so my wife and I have a special level of contempt for MAGAts now.

I got us back on topic. You're welcome, shemp.

A couch cushion with Vance's face might be more appropriate.

They say they're not the party of homoeroticism but daaaaamn, so much of what they say and do revolves around dudes' junk. If the Republican party got any deeper into the closet they'd be holding their convention in Narnia.

I really don't understand it.

Are they seriously mocking people who have used IVF?

Is that what they are doing?

I know a lot of people, including very right-wing family members, who have used IVF to build their families.

What in the heck is even their point?

"...but we're not weirdos!"

Aren't the GOP the same party that had their supporters wearing diapers on college campuses in an attempt to own the libs?

Jesus I can't imagine being a right-winger. Growing up in NoDak I really dodged a bullet.
