Cont: Musk, SpaceX and future of Tesla II

Doesn't seem like a recall to me. They're offering an upgrade, not fixing a safety issue.

That's kind of the thing though, we don't really know, do we? Elon, and by extension Tesla, wouldn't really say it was unless they had to. It could just be an upgrade, or it could not.

I just got a recall on my 2019 Toyota Tacoma today! That'll be nice to be without my vehicle for a couple days.

They are replacing a part that is underperforming and breaks a lot. Sure, it's not recalling the vehicle to fix a safety issue, it's recalling the vehicle to fix a reliability issue.

In fact, the*New York Times*now reports, Musk has gone as far as to volunteer his sperm to seed a Martian colony — highlighting not just his obsession with the company, but his also his boundary-blurring obsession with reproduction and his own genetic material.

His willingness to provide the semen necessary to grow a colony on Mars shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Musk has*long argued*that the greatest threat to humanity is collapsing global fertility rates.

You couldn't make this up.

I suspect Ford's problem is that they've invested a generation's worth of resources in cementing a customer base that isn't interested in EVs.
Yep. I'm in Texas, it's a bit hard to imagine all the good ole boys trading in their giant powerful pickups for an EV.

Sure, take Toyota off the list then. The other 16 remain.
No, I will not play Whac-A-Mole for you.

In what way am I trying to get past the auto censor? I am not writing the asterisks, the auto-censor is doing that, when I write that Musk is a ********ter.
Interesting. I had presumed it would censor the whole word, as I have seen people being warned for just doing part of it.

I am writing that because he IS a ********ter. That doesn't make me a hater. It makes me someone who accepts reality and can clearly see ******** when it is spouted.
Hard to tell when we don't know what you wrote. I just have to assume it's a nasty word, which makes you a hater.

musk endorsed candidate vows to end ev mandate on day one in favor of legacy auto makers
Hardly surprising - it's a popular stance, especially among republicans. They are always talking about keeping the government out of the market so the invisible hand can do its thing without interference.

Now just waiting for Trump to announce his intention to end oil and gas subsidies... oh wait.

This will be good for Tesla and bad for legacy automakers, who are already struggling to make EVs cheap enough.

And now we know why Musk endorsed Trump for president. He voted for Biden in 2020 you know.

Fair enough. Using Mexico as a Trojan horse to avoid tariffs seems wrong to me.
