What would you consider a major "culture war" battleground?

Note that Trausti agreed with you while actually providing a different definition from yours. "Illiberal" doesn't mean the same thing as "believing in the ideology of Critical Social Justice".

Yes, as I replied to Trausti, his definition is too broad.

Critical Social Justice?

Never heard the term. It sounds like you made it up out of Critical Race Theory and Social Justice, two of your favourite topics.

Strange to assume that when one encounters a new term, it must have been just made up.

JT 512's definition might be handy, but he might better make the point to those like De Santis who do not seem to understand the meaning of the term they're tossing around.

DeSantis' lawyers defined it. Under oath no less.

The governor's general counsel, Ryan Newman, said, in general, it means "the belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."

Eh, putting "lived experience" over objective facts and ignoring the difference between correlation and causation in the service of an ideology seems a bit illiberal.

I'll bring that up next time we discuss the "nation wide crime wave"

The word "woke" is so flexible and has become such political shorthand that it doesn't really have any meaning anyway. The difference between little endians and big endians has more substance.

THIS.
You have idiots on both sides of the woke controversy. Some on the right seems to think anything the gives minorities a spotlight is "Woke" and some on the left think will support any silliness if it promotes what they consider "racial justice"
A good example is the Cleopatra controversy. Date to suggest that Cleo was not black (Hell, she was not even Egyptian..the name itself is Greek, not Egyptian) and you get branded a racist, and some have said even if it false, the idea that Cleo was black shoudl be supported because it is some how 'beneficial" to Young 'People of Color".
On the other hand that some of the Elves and Hobbits in "Rings of Power" were black has been denounced by some on the right as being Woke. I have plenty of bad things to say about "Rings of Power" (it is very false to Tolkien) but the casting is not one of them.

Well, lots of people on the right have become very good at that.

So, bombing black churches and wearing rainbow tshirts are the same. Got it.

Ummm, it was young POC that brought up why Cleopatra isn't a good example of a "strong African woman". It was the millionaire centrist who funded that project, remember?

Honestly, it doesn't matter that chuds on the internet didn't like a TV show. It matters that chuds i nelected office, echoing a lot of your talking points, are rolling back civil rights and using the law to presecute "others".

And that's one of the things you keep blowing past in your lame, dishonest, and trasnparent "both sides" garbage. The scale of what people from whatever camp are looking for and doing.

It was Zahi Hawass who brought up the idea that Cleopatra being black is a made-up fantasy that Netflix funded to get diversity asspats.

Zahi Hawass, a prominent Egyptologist and former antiquities minister, told the al-Masry al-Youm newspaper: "This is completely fake. Cleopatra was Greek, meaning that she was light-skinned, not black."
Mr Hawass said the only rulers of Egypt known to have been black were the Kushite kings of the 25th Dynasty (747-656 BC).
"Netflix is trying to provoke confusion by spreading false and deceptive facts that the origin of the Egyptian civilisation is black," he added and called on Egyptians to take a stand against the streaming giant.

This is what's called Blackwashing history.

He was the most authoritative voice, but I saw people across demographics pointing it out. this had nothing to do with (((woke))).

Heh. Perspectives differ: there are those who would object to calling Cleopatra "Greek" rather than "Macedonian".

I would say after yesterday the front line of cultural conglict is in front of a synogogue in LA.

Are we even supposed to tell kids about heterosexual activities?
That's one of the idiocies of the whole thing. They don't actually want anyone do do what they actually say. Heterosexuality is an orientation, and the good old fashioned nuclear family is a lifestyle choice too. And we all use the pronouns we like, even if we like the ones you do too.
