Catherine Blaiklock the Great Yarmouth candidate for the English Democrats party says

"Zero migration is not enough. We need to reduce the population by 300,000 a year. Only then can we solve the housing and NHS crises

Who would we like to deport?

Every single illegal - maybe 5 million. No one knows how many there are by definition.
Every single foreign criminal
Every single foreign student
Visitor visa overstayers
Every person who shouts about genocide of Jews or hating the UK
Every person who has multiple wives against our marriage laws.
Every grooming gang member."

She's getting support from quite a few people that think Reform are too soft.

Was Corbyn targeted by the right wing media? Yes. Did he make it all too easy for them with a history of poor decisions and public statements also yes. Sure he ran May close, but I would put money on it if Starmer had been the leader Labour would have won. Maybe think about the impact of no Johnson, no Truss and no Sunak on the last few years before complaining Starmer won't be left wing enough.

No.

Because his communication, and, importantly, the analysis of same, is being communicated to the public by a right wing press with a vested interest in not having him PM. I thought I'd made that clear.

And yet a predecessor managed to communicate his policies to the public so effectively, he won three elections in a row.

Stop making excuses for Corbyn. He was a lousy leader.

"Everyone who voted for the English Democrats" might be enough for the first week.

We got a flyer through from the Tories today, to be fair to wassername who's trying to replace John Howell, it does actually use the word 'Conservative' twice (if not in very large type), once on the front page, once on the back and actually does have some blue on it. It even has a picture of Rishi Sunak (back page, side view, very, very dark).

On the bright side it also says that a vote for the Lib Dems is a vote for Keir Starmer which is really nice of them to reasure people like me who want to vote Labour but are going to vote Lib Dem tactically.

Waiting for one of Rishi's school mates to go to the press saying he had NTL cable all along.

The Tories have lost the Mail readership

Labour leads by 12% among those who primarily read the news from The Daily Mail.

Westminster VI, Daily Mail Readers (7-10 June):

Labour 37%
Conservative 25%
Reform UK 18%
Liberal Democrat 6%
Other 5%
Don't Know 9%

Labour also leads Express readers 47% to 22%

Our local borough councillor is standing for the Tories against a former Tory and appeared in the press this week because they stood* for the Brexit party in 2019 and used quite strong anti-Tory hashtag. Some of you may have already worked out who they are.

*one of the ones who didn't stand aside

When you consider how much time the Tories have spent pandering to those two rags that's a serious blow.

So he's lost the Express, the Spectator and the Heil? Damn Rishi, can you be the Conservative leader forever?

And it seems the Sky debate went badly as well. Three weeks gone and nothing has moved the needle for the Tories, well not in the direction they want.

"Rishi Sunak aide placed bet on election date days before announcement".

This is MP - and Sunak's close advisor - Craig Williams. If a footballer did this they'd face a hefty fine and a ban. Naughty!

It's surely different for sporting events, since the outcome of those is not supposed to be predetermined, and insiders betting on them is an indication of probably corruption and match-fixing. But if bookies choose to take bets on events that are determined by a group of people, then that's surely at their risk, and of course they will try to check up on anyone making such wagers, but did the aide do anything actually illegal?

ETA: To answer my own question, from the article:
A spokesperson for the Gambling Commission said: “If someone uses confidential information in order to gain an unfair advantage when betting, this may constitute an offence of cheating under section 42 of the Gambling Act, which is a criminal offence.

I still think it should be the bookie's look-out for this sort of event. "Cheating" is not defined in the Gambling Act, and it's not clear to me that having knowledge is cheating.

Not a big thing but Sunak says he often visited St. Mary's to see his beloved Saints play as a kid.

When he was a kid, and until he was an adult, Saints didn't play in St. Marys. They played at the Dell.
