Grant says

"The Unions are cheering after Rachel Reeves’ speech.

Labour have completely bowed down to their demands to import French-style laws that will cost British businesses £1,250 a year per employee.

But as Conservatives we will stand up to unions and back business to create jobs."

And yet it was reported on PM that many unions are not completely happy with Reeves' proposals...

Who to believe? The Beeb or whichever one of that twunt's alter egos is in charge of spouting **** today? (I presume that is Shapps.)

Even if true, that's a lot cheaper than the Brexit costs introduced by the Tories.

Kevin O'Sullivan on Talk TV says

"Manchester's Labour police force has decided not to prosecute Labour's deputy leader Angela Rayner. Gosh, what a surprise."

Lots of Tory talking heads jumping on this.

Conveniently ignoring that the Chief Constable has been attending right wing fringe events as a speaker.

I'm not overly concerned though, Sunak will probably do something else incredibly stupid that will grab the headlines, possibly before the night is out.

Glad to see the proposal to re-institute National Service wasn't fake news.

I take it Rishi had a bet with trump, via Farage probably, over who could raise the most laughs in an election campaign.

Have you seen the rest of Sunak's campaign?

Farage is unpleasant but he's not stupid enough to take that bet.

Vote Dalek!

They're certainly old enough.

Marina Hyde nailing it in the Guardian
The prime minister seems so palpably convinced he can’t win that he’s at the stage of promising any old mad thing. In fact, in terms of a specific snapshot of where we are, just shy of a week into the election he called … it’s like that scene at the end of Of Mice and Men [spoiler alert, kids], where Rishi Sunak knows the Conservative party has accidentally killed something. (Curley’s wife? The economy? Dignity in politics?) And he is now sitting down next to the Conservative party, and is telling it a lovely story about all the lovely things they are going to do, right before he shoots it in the head like a good pal.

Tories demanding Rayner publishes her personal tax advice as she hasn't "provided an explanation" to the questions facing her.

So, what have we had so far?

  • War-mongering
  • Bribing the pensioners
  • Insert your own fave promise here

What next...? 10p off the price of beer? Kissing babies? Recruit more police? Build more hospitals?

Yawn. Zzzzzzzz.

Roughly half the world went utterly ******* insane around about 2016,, and we are still dealing with the fallout from that.

I have a theory as to the cause of this mass loss of reason, but this is not the thread for that conversation. It is, however, a very good illustration of it.

The Tories say they will scrap university courses in England to help fund 100,000 apprenticeships per year if they win the July election.

They say it would replace the "worst-performing" degrees that it considers a "rip-off" because of high drop-out rates and "poor" job prospects.

Reform are promising to close down all the foreign barbers shops, nail bars, kebab shops, phone repair and accessory shops.
They are all just fronts for money laundering and drug running.

I'd be interested if you start a new thread on this

Manchester Police and the Met are bent, lefty organisations pandering to the woke mob and operating a two tier enforcement of the law.

That's the takeaway for today.

Plus HMRC are infiltrated by the left wing 'blob'.

Breaking news - Sunak to announce chimney climbing lessons for all small boys.
It will boost the economy and build character.

They would need to find employers with places available. Here in Finland, competition for places in Vocational Colleges is just as strong as it is for uni, one local college is oversubscribed by several hundred. The 500 or so who get on the vocational courses are interviewed in the press as being absolutely ecstatic at getting in. It's weird how in the UK, 'trade' is considered lesser than academia. I suspect what Sunak really has in mind is to make further education once again the preserve of the elite and a barrier to entry to the best jobs.
