Shapps says

"Every day that goes past without Labour saying how they’d protect our nation is a day where the world gets more dangerous.

Only the Conservatives will take the bold action we need to strengthen our national defence."

Unlike Rishi who has a cunning plan.

Scoop of the century for GB News. One of their presenters Neil Oliver says Rishi Sunak stood down because he refused to accept a command from the secret rulers of the world to go to war with Russia. But Keir Starmer has said yes.

What?

There’s a positive explosion of cases of crack-induced head trauma at the moment.

This was a nice reply to Grant Schnapps

After the election it’s predicted that there’ll only be 30 Tory MPs left, and four of them are you 🤷🤣

Apparently Reform Ltd have had to drop about a hundred potential candidates who were so awful even they couldn't stand them, might fit in with the remaining Tories?

Link to this?

Not saying I don't believe you (although can you imagine being too awful for Reform?) but confirmation would be good.

According to Camilla Tominey of the Telegraph, GB News the 'upstart broadcaster’ is going from strength to strength. It's astonishing audience growth proves an alternative to the BBC is needed and the media 'elite' are terrified, that's why the regulators sanction them.

I wonder if the fact she has a show on GB News is anything to do with her opinion.

First 'bold' manifesto policy from Rishi

He's pledged mandatory National Service for every 18 year old if he wins the election.

— they will have to do either a year-long army placement or one weekend a month volunteering for a year.

You must be joking.

I seem to remember that the UK military wasn't keen on National Service even in the height of the Cold War.

And I'm not sure what 700,000 poorly motivated and trained 18 year olds, who couldn't politically be sent on active sevice unless there was WWIII would do much for the capabilities of the armed forces, except eating into their budget

Nobody born since October 1939 has done National Service in the UK. Those people are now at least 85. This policy is aimed at winning the votes of people who never did National Service but who want to force others to do it.

It would be really nice if Starmer had a bit of substance and Labour had decent policies. He reminds me far too much of Australian PM Albanese. Colourless, uninspiring and someone who abandoned policies which would have benefitted the poor at the expense of the rich (negative gearing and tax franking credits). He showed the way to election was by making his party a small target and “safe”. Starmer is doing the same.

The pity of this is (to coin another Australian Labor leaders words) that a drovers dog could win against Rishi.

I remember the excitement even in Australia when Tony Blair was elected. All I’m detecting now is shrug of the shoulders.

What makes your comment hilarious is I remember Blair being accused of much the same before 1997, of abandoning Labour priniciples and basically being just 'Tory-lite'.
