General UK Politics VI It's A (Honey) Trap!

It seems we are facing War. Can’t call an election as we are on a war footing.

Rish! isn't even trying anymore is he? "Yeah sure, we've been in government for 14 years and it's been a ******** all round, but honest guv, Labour would be much worse!"

They don't have much in the playbook, the old favourites will be wheeled out. Along with the "they are all the same" i.e. "yeah your corruption may amount to tax not paid on £1500 and ours was a million plus fine for an ex-chancellor who was found to have illegally and knowingly evaded tax but it's all the same" and the almost subtle for the Tories - "Labour are Tories but for name" to supress the turnout of the more left leaning folk.

UK citizens, who are you voting for this year (presumably)? Me, I'm going for Green or Lib-Dem. I've not decided yet.

Whoever has the best chance of ousting the Conservatives.

I don't like that I have to do tactical voting but this is the system we have and my primary concern is 'Not Tory', any of the other mainstream parties is acceptable when held to that standard (and we don't appear to have a Reform UK candidate currently)

Labour for preference, but I suspect Lib Dem will be the tactical vote (Henley so unlikely to win either way). I'm expecting a slew of fake tactical voting sites from the people who brought us "Fact Check UK" to attempt to frustrate the will of the people.

Yup

StopTheTories.vote is a real site. And Carol Vordeman endorses it, so it should have a reasonable amount of traction.

I just looked at that site, but I can't be bothered to join it before getting advice on tactical voting.

I was Labour, but Starmer lost my vote when he disciplined his own party members for calling a genocide a genocide.

I will look at the opinion polls in my usually rabidly right-wing constituency and vote for whoever seems most likely to be able to oust the sitting criminal.

Ha ha ha

Hmmm, probably whoever has the best chance of booting out Tory Girl Trevelyan.

The seat (as Berwick upon Tweed) was Liberal, then Lib Dem for donkeys' years until 2015. This was partly a backlash against the Lib Dems, but the Tory vote also increased. Labour have been the second placed party recently, but have put up a couple of PPCs I will not vote for (local councillors who I have found to be less than honest), so it depends who they put up this time, but I still remain reluctant to vote Lib Dem as I have not heard any apologies for what they did between 2010 and 2015 and I have a long and vindictive memory.

Lab, but my constituency is a Lab stronghold anyway.

Labour. As stated above, I am a party member, however, if the Lib Dems stood a chance of ousting the useless Tory I would have voted for them. However, the Tories are so useless, and the sitting MP so bad, they are probably going to lose Ken Clarke's very safe seat.

"I remain confident that my party can prevail, not because of our record alone, but because we will be the only party really talking about the future."

Do we think he actually believes it?
