Split Thread Trump Document indictment (as opposed to other indictments)

This is a classic example of MAGA stupidity:

"Stupidity" feel like the wrong word to describe that. Unprincipled and willfully blind might each be better. Either way, that was a fine example of why the Republican Party gets away with embracing so much corruption and crime.

I'd suggest just adding "unprincipled and willfully blind" to stupidity.

This is ridiculous. If I had documents with those markings in my house I would now be starting year 3 of my prison sentence.

Still not a lawyer, but damn if this case doesn’t seem like the most open and shut case of them all, with the elements of the crime being clearly defined and easily proven.

So aggravating.
Ditto to duo.

Yah, not like this was any surprise since Cannon has been handing Trump undeserved wins for many many months now, but seriously this is the most egregious thing anyone has done in all of the criminal cases against him. And it's so blatantly obvious too, even Jonathan Turley has acknowledged that the Documents case against T is a strong one, everyone knows that his only hope is to delay until reelection so he can kill it permanently.
The media should be all over this. And it is the supreme illustration of the idea that T is somehow being targeted for political reasons is nonsense, since the *only* reason he is not sitting in jail right now for these charges is due to his influence over the Judiciary which he acquired as a result of his presidency. It's obscene, and infuriating.

One of the key failings of the US political system is that the separation of powers relies on the participants playing by the rules. For over 200 years, people did (mostly) play by the rules but in the early '80s the Republicans realised that unwritten rules aren't worth the paper they're not written on and that they can do whatever they want's because there's nothing legally to stop them.
