Cont: Musk buys Twitter II

Late last year/early this year I gave up on X, tried Post, didn’t care for it and have been on Threads ever since.

1) Post is no more. Terrible business model making folks pay small payments to read content. Good riddance.

2) I’ve been seeing reports that Threads has passed X in total active users. Significant if true.

Currently that appears to be true, though in the 'Yes, but' category. The analyses I've seen show 28M/22M DAUs, but that's based on third-party data and for the US market only.
Overall TwiX claims ~260M DAUs versus 130M for Threads but the TwiX numbers are self-reported and, frankly, dubious.

Thanks. I suspected the claim was not black-and-white.

Impressive performance for a newcomer nonetheless.

Any chance of a summary? The phrase "snowball in hell" comes to mind when I'm presented with a link to Muskie.

Muskie is “concerned” about a Tucker Carlson report where he says white people are the most racially discriminated against.

Sorry, I meant to add a summary, but I was on mobile at the time, and I think it didn't take effect.

Musk is now quoting* Tucker Carlson. He's deep into the white replacement theory garbage stuff

*or not precisely quoting and I forget the X terminology for it

i think it’s a little suspicious how tucker has been anointed by these sort of alt right social media guys. he’s been going on these podcasts and slapping knees with comedians, it’s too buddy buddy. there’s something going on there.

Anointed?

Tucker was long acknowledged as possibly the best single propagandist for white supremacy and the like. It's no surprise that his audience and those who want to profit off his audience haven't completely deserted him.

Was there something in particular other than that you think is likely going on?

just kind of a feeling i have but yeah i think it’s a little odd he’s on rogan talking about no evidence for evolution while joe agrees and says we need jesus and he’s being pushed by elon and they all move to texas for free speech. and this isnt his audience, his audience was fox news geriatrics. he’s been given access to a new audience. anyway they’re all too cozy and i think there’s a bigger deception here.

but that’s just a feeling i have

To be fair I am also concerned. Concerned about how people with severe mental illness get so much attention yet don't get medical attention.

Xitter includes its bots when convenient.
