Needs to pimp some more then.

Tesla plans to lay off 10% of its staff worldwide.

The article also includes this:

The implication of that is that they are not selling as many Cybetrucks as they were hoping. Makes me wonder what happened to their enormous waiting list.

I have a couple of possibilities for your consideration:

1) The pre-orders were all journalists hoping to get the first one, so that they'd have the 'scoop' on how bad it is. Once one journo publishes, all the rest cancel.

2) The stuff circulating on social media, about how rust prone the shiny body is, has put people off, because they are already sick of rusty cars.

(There's a reason why some car companies use zinc coated steel for car bodies, and it ain't for looks.)

For both me and a friend with orders we passed on…

3) Substantially higher price combined with lackluster range, especially when towing, and awkwardness when needing to charge with a trailer in tow.

Yeah, your move to deep sea colonization kinda threw me. If you'd said surface and subsurface colonization along the continental shelves, I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Well, the excuse for colonizing Mars is to have a backup stock of humans in case earth gets an extinction level asteroid hit..

Thing is: Mars is way more likely to get hit by one of those than Earth is, and an impact would be way worse.
A deep sea colony would be practically immune from the effects of any asteroid.

Cybertruck had to stop shipping for 5 days? Tesla is the worst car manufacturer ever ever.

Oh wait, what's this?
Ford halted shipments of their Lighting in February due to quality control issues, shipments still have not resumed.

Ford cut an entire shift from the Lightning plant due to low sales.
If only Elon Musk wouldn't have dabbled in the design.

Ford Mustang Mach-E was in automated driving mode while it was involved in a fatal crash.
Why does Elon Musk want to kill people with his undeveloped technology?

Ford to cut Lightning production in half.
******* Musk!

Ford to cut prices of Lightning pickup due to low sales.
Damn you Elon!!!

Tesla cut employee numbers 10 percent due to low sales. Mostly for pressure from Chinese makers.

Nobody is immune to market changes.

This is not an issue that hinges on musk. Even the plethora of Chinese EV makers is expected to face a huge shakeout of less profitable brands in the next few years.

I wonder what Delorean did to their Stainless Steel car bodies.

Gods no. Deep sea is infinitely worse for colonization. It's much better for economic exploitation, but not colonization. You've got no energy source (you can do solar on mars), extreme pressure gradients (~400 atmosphere difference vs 1 atmosphere difference), and higher energy costs because the ocean is not only cold, but also conducts heat really, really well.

If that's true how come you can buy this: https://www.chrono24.dk/rolex/rolex...d32952141.htm?searchHash=fa0bed4_3Vq404&pos=1

Checkmate!

Here's a couple:

https://spaceimpulse.com/2023/06/13/how-much-does-rocket-fuel-cost/

https://primalnebula.com/where-does-spacex-get-their-rocket-fuel/

Search around if you'd like. You'll see that fuel is a small fraction of total launch costs.

The first cites no sources for its figures and, from its staff, looks to be a site designed to big up certain stocks and shares, its advisory board is full of management consutants.

The second site is the personal blog of a 25 year old musician with no relevant qualifiactions or experience.

I repeat, have you got any citations for those figures?

OK, let's try this:

Standard Prices for Aerospace Energy Category Items, FY 2020 Defense Logistics Agency

Everyone feel free to check my math. Using https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falcon_9_Full_Thrust#Rocket_specifications:

LOX - 400 tons
RP-1 - 50818 gallons, using .81 kg/liter mass

From PDF:

Propellant Oxygen - $212.24/ton. Cost $84,871.79
Propellant Rocket Grade Kerosene - $11.62/gallon. Cost $590,503.78

That's a total fuel cost of $675,375.57

Ford is making way too much money out of their stupid, oversized trucks and SUVs. Their electric vehicles are yet to be any more than a token.

Or the more likely answer is consumers don't want electric vehicles and Ford is no longer willing to lose money on them.

Ford’s EV business continues to lose money, around $1.3 billion this past quarter in adjusted earnings. So far this year, Ford has lost $3.1 billion on its EV spending and has said it’s going to lose a total of $4 billion for the year.

Your temper tantrum of a whataboutism aside, you seem to be going out of your way to avoid the fact that no one is saying it's only Tesla\Elon. Elon is just the only CEO that consistently makes claims opposite of reality.

Can you find me quotes from the Ford CEO making the same ridiculous, obnoxious, grandiose claims that Musk does? If not, then all your belly aching means nothing because it's not a true comparison.

The EV market is slipping for sure, but on top of that Musk's claims and public persona are driving people away from his products.

Not a temper tantrum and not "what about-ism." Just adding a little reality to this MDS **** show.

For you it's not about the numbers, it's about Musk's personality. Classic MDS.

Yeah sure, if you say so.
