He supports the cause of labour, something Starmer abhors.

Are you really suggesting that my Labour candidate, if elected, would be more damaging to the cause of labour than my current Tory MP?

Because that's the choice I have. And indeed, due to a lack of tactical voting, is probably why I currently have a Tory MP.

Yep as I thought nothing new. It's scare mongering. No mention of what happened in E&W when similar laws were introduced, no mention of section 3.1 of the HRA and so on.
I guess I am remote, so if I am in my mother's basement in Aberdeen, can I say Islam is a religion of misogyny and should be therefore banished and made an unlawful practice.

Yes. You can after the 1st of April this year in Aberdeen campaign to have Islam made illegal, you can say Mohammad was a paedophile, you can say Islam is dangerous, has cased many deaths, that it subjugates women, that it has no place in a civilised society. You'll be able to write such stuff online and in print. Indeed you will be able to take people and organisations that try to prevent you from expressing such ideas to court as you have a legal right to freedom of expression and that includes freedom to criticise any and all religion.

Thank you.
Intriguing.

You may still get a visit from Police Scotland, but it will be to take you into protective custody and save you from the Islamic mob outside your basement who want to kill you.

Where are all these mobs? There are probably thousands, may be tens of thousands of people posting such stuff and much worse about Islam, not seen any of these mobs forming.

As if we needed more proof that millionaires should not be in charge of important bits of our gubbmint, like the Exchequer, Jezza Rhyming Slang keeps saying that £100k isn't much to live on.

Tell you what, Jezza, I bet you never tried living on my princely nursing salary, which didn't get to the higher tax band. But I'm not the sort of twat who forgets to declare all the profits I make on my multiple rental properties...

Why are your sources the notoriously right wing spectator and GBeeBies?

Oh that's right because you've admitted previously to only listening to sources that say what you want to hear and don't even fact check them just taking it at face value.

Was it Samson who described The Guardian as "far left", or was that someone else?

I think you are being rather unfair - this isn't someone who deals with money and finance day-to-day. And it's so easy to forget the odd property or two, I mean I've forgotten mine so much it's as if they don't exist.

[Checks down the back of the sofa for forgotten rental properties]

Nope. :(

Some knob on Twitter said we shouldn't criticise Hunt for his blindness to the legions of people in poverty, but for being part of the party that made it difficult to cope on £100k.

No. A thousand times, no. You earn that much, you have options, loads of 'em.

£100k per annum is well into the top 5%.
"Before deducting housing costs, £ per year, 2022. Household income at the 95th percentile is £81,357"

"Even in the relatively affluent Godalming and Ash constituency Hunt is contesting, where a chat with an unhappy voter prompted him to muse about the challenges of six-figure salaries, estimates by the consultancy Electoral Calculus put the median at little more than half that: £56,606."
