Cont: Today's Mass Shooting (part 3)

From what I can tell, the suspect is identified and still at large.

President Biden stepped out of a state dinner with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in order to be briefed and to make phone calls.

It's been 73 days since August Golden was murdered in anti-LGBTQ+ mass shooting hate crime and we still have no suspect description from the media or the police.

Meanwhile, there were 9 mass shootings over the weekend. Imma guess none of them were committed by the white supremacist terrorists the current regime keeps blabbering on about. If that were the case, this thread would be 4 or 5 pages longer by now. Am I wrong?

Hello? You've gone awfully quiet, there.

Ex-military and a registered sex offender, I'm reading.

The news is all over the place. Some say he is a registered sex offender, some say that he is a firearms instructor in the National Guard. Or Reserves, depending upon the source. "Is" as in present tense.

I don't think both things can be true at the same time. I am getting the impression that there are two men with the same name - and the sex offender is not the shooter. The military (or ex military) guy is.

He seems to be (or have been) a Sergeant. He recently sought treatment for some mental health issues - inpatient for two weeks. He had threatened to shoot up a National Guard base.

Now they are claiming to have found his car in the town of Lisbon. I guess about eight miles from Lewiston.

ETA: The sex offender guy is 39 years old. The guy they are looking for is 40. The shooter is definitely not the sex offender - both pretty close in age and bearded.

It never works to put a mass shooter incident in the catchall thread when there are more than 10 or 15 dead.

Police say at least 15 to 20 people were killed and up to 50 people were injured after shootings in Lewiston, Maine. A manhunt is underway for Robert Card, a person of interest, who authorities say was a trained firearm instructor with a military background. NBC News' Jonathan Dienst shares the latest.

I mean every incident is different dutifully acknowledged in this kind of scenario the dude has probably either already offed himself or is waiting on suicide by cop.

I think he has gone Rambo and is hiding in the forest, preparing lots of traps.

The shootings took place at a local bowling alley during a 'Youth Night' event. WTH?
The shooting unfolded in part during youth night at a local bowling alley. Witnesses described a desperate scene where people hid behind benches and tables and even inside the machine at the end of the lane where the pins are. Riley Dumont said she heard a loud bang after which her father, a retired cop, corralled them into a corner and put protection in front of them including "tables and a big bench that the kids were hiding behind." ABC News link

ABC News is also reporting that the shooter has a recent history of making deadly threats to the point he was at a mental health facility for a couple weeks last summer.
Lewiston police have identified a person of interest as Robert Card, who's still at large. Card allegedly has a history of military service and is a firearms instructor, sources said. The sources said he also has a mental health history, including a two-week stay this summer at a mental health facility after he allegedly made threats about carrying out a shooting at a National Guard facility.

Lewiston is the 634th mass shooting in the USA, this year, so far. A BBC reporter said that Lewiston is now on the list of places in the US synonymous with a mass shooting. I wonder if there is anywhere left in the USA that has not had a mass shooting?
