NY AG files civil fraud suit against Trump

Trump ordered to pay additional $10,000 fine by Engoron:

In a shocking turn of events, the New York judge presiding over Donald Trump’s bank fraud trial ordered the former president to testify Wednesday over an insult Trump threw at the judge’s law clerk.

After a brief testimony by Trump, Justice Arthur F. Engoron formally called him out.

“As the trier of fact, I find that the witness is not credible, that he was referring to my law clerk, who is sitting much closer to me, who doesn’t have a barrier,” he said. “I hereby fine you $10,000, which is on the liberal side, to be paid within 30 days.”

During a court break earlier in the day, Trump held an impromptu press conference outside the courtroom in which he complained about the “person who’s very partisan sitting alongside of [the judge],” an oblique reference to attorney Allison Greenfield, who advises the judge on this case.

Defense attorney Christopher Kise claimed that Trump was actually referring to the witness, Trump’s sworn enemy and former lawyer Michael Cohen. The judge said he’d take the matter under advisement.

However, when trial continued after a lunch break, Engoron held a surprise hearing in which he ordered Trump to take the witness stand—marking the first time the real estate tycoon has done so in his ongoing legal troubles.

After a visibly perturbed Trump was sworn in, the judge asked him who he was referring to when he directed his anger at the person sitting next to the judge who's “very partisan.”

“Are you sure you didn't mean on the other side of me, my principal law clerk?” Engoron asked.

“Yes actually,” Trump said, sticking to his story.

Engoron probed further, asking Trump if he had previously refererred to his law clerk as a “partisan democrat?”

“She may be unfair. I think she's very biased against us. I think we made that clear… we put up a picture, and you didn’t want that up… we didn’t necessarily agree with that... and we didn’t take it down,” Trump said.

No. It's a sad turn of events that a man like that was ever President. It's a turn of events we should all be ashamed of that we let our society and government and culture fall to.

But "shocking?" No. Donald J. Trump opening his mouth after being told not to open his mouth is mathematically speaking the single least shocking thing that's ever happened.

It's the second time the judge has fined trump over remarks about the court staff, and the second time the judge has actively decided against holding trump in contempt to avoid jailing him.

Clearly the third fine will be when trump learns his lesson. Or the fourth. Or the fifth. Or..

Fine, schmine. He'll just send out another fundraising email asking a bunch of poor schmucks to help defend him against the CORRUPT AND TOTALLY DERANGED JUDGE DENYING ME MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS! TRUMP 2024!!!!

My gut feeling is that no judge wants to be the first one to throw Trump in jail, because it will turn all his other cases higgledy-piggledy. As unfair as it seems, it's usually in the plaintiff's and prosecutor's best interest to keep the defendant out of jail because it expedites the pretrial practice.

Cohen backtracked on his "reverse engineering" of Trump's financial statments, saying Trump didn't directly tell him to do it, but said "he speaks like a mob boss" and you know what he wants you to do.

Cohen didn't exactly backtrack. He has always said Trunp spoke in code. Trump implies the outcome and expects his subordinates to infer the results.

But you're right. Cohen's testimony was hardly required and the case certainly doesn't depend on his testimony. Although Trump desperately tried to demand it was.during the break.

I have a very partisan and angry Judge, a Corrupt Attorney General, and am not allowed a Jury Trial under the Statute they have chosen to use (for the very first time ever!). I find it very funny when he says "Election Interference by my Political Opponent!" preceded by saying the governor should get involved in a court case! I know Emerson said "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines" but he never met Trump, where consistency is something that only applies to ketchup.

Writer Maggot Hagerman of the Failing New York Times wrote almost her entire FAKE story today about the Trump Hating Judge's Gag Order (They love to silence me!), rather than the Racist Attorney General's STAR witness chocking like a dog on the Witness Stand (Perry Mason?), and admitting that I NEVER asked him to do anything wrong. He also admitted that he lied to Congress Under Oath, AGAIN, brand new charges. THAT MEANS THEY NO LONGER HAVE A WITNESS, OR A CASE. She also failed to report that the Trump Hating Judge refuses to respect or accept the Appeals Court decision reversing him, a first! Maggot should focus her energies on Corrupt Prosecutors and Judges, whose hatred and bias is so great that they are unable to make a fair and reasonable decision.
