Fox News knew they were lying about election

Fox want to settle desperately because if they go to trial and very likely lose, there is not only $1.6 billion to pay plus being humiliated on TV, there is also a $2.7 billion suit from Smartmatic coming straight after for the same cause. And there would then be clear precedent with Dominion. Two massive losses together plus the public humiliation will very likely ruin and bankrupt Fox. Rupe doesn't want to die poor...

Fox's biggest problem would be that if they lose, they'll have to loudly and frequently announce to their viewers that they lied about Dominion Systems and also lied about Donald Trump having the 2020 election "stolen" from him.

Breaking: Fox has agreed to a settlement, details coming when available.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis just announced in court that a settlement has been reached in the historic defamation case between News and Dominion Voting Systems.

“The parties have resolved their case,” Davis said.

“Your presence here… was extremely important. And without you, the parties would not have been able to resolve their situation,” the judge told the jurors, before dismissing them.

Oddly, this is one trial I was looking forward to seeing. I wanted to see those ******** held accountable in public and humiliated (if that's even possible.) Still, I don't fault Dominion for taking a satisfying settlement.

I wonder if this stops the special counsel into whether or not Fox withheld evidence.

From CNN.com (I won't link because the page scrolls):

The settlement between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems totals $787,500,000, according to Dominion attorney Justin Nelson.

The settlement represents "vindication and accountability," Nelson said in a news conference Tuesday afternoon.

"The truth matters, lies have consequences," Nelson said.

No, truth doesn't matter, only money.

Part of me wants to go "Well all we have to do is wait for Fox News to lie again" which should take about .000004 seconds but I know it's not that simple.

Fox's statement, from the CNN scroll:

“We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We acknowledge the Court’s rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects FOX’s continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards. We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues," the statement said.

True as ever, money talks and ******** walks!

$787.5 million is a drop in the bucket for Murdoch and Fox News. Back to business as usual.

"I didn't think there was any way they would get $1.6 billion – even when they proved their case, even if they proved it overwhelmingly to a jury. Let's remember, by its own estimation, Dominion valued the entire company at somewhere between $30 and $80 million. This settlement is 10 times the value of Dominion as an entire company. That's how strong a statement this is with this number," Honig explained.

And:

Dominion still has pending lawsuits against election deniers such as Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell

Dominion won't have a prayer of getting $780 million out of each of them. But they CAN totally bankrupt them, financially and career-wise.

Also, wonder what Trump and Trumpworld thinks of Fox caving...

That couldn’t be more of an eff-you-all statement if 100 monkeys with typewriters were given 100 years to come up with something better.
