Cont: Transwomen are not women - part XI

Tomato sauce, juice or soup, it looks even more harmless than a dildo.

Someone once threw a broken bottle at my head.

I wouldn't even call him a psycho thug.
I am not wedded to the term, I suggested you describe this person after watching the video and reading that he calls her a ****

The preferred term of endearment of the chappy who hurled the broken bottle at my head was "faggot".

I still wouldn't call him a psycho thug.

Throwing tomatoes at the opposition really says something about whether you think you can win using your words.

Watching the Pose Parker and other protests has made me realise, of course trans women are often aggressive in their approach, as they cannot lose all the attributes of men by being trans.

I'm not sure how you would know which were transwomen since many didn't look to have transitioned. Most just appeared to be violent males who have been encouraged by idiots to believe they have an excuse for attacking women and relish the opportunity.

So what would you call Ely?
Here is more material for your consideration

You don't have to have a label for every situation.

The question is how to deal with situations like this where people feel like they have some sort of right to assault.

I have spoken about this problem in another thread, where I describe how, long ago I got caught up in a mob.

I think the reason I was not swept up with it is my extreme aversion to loud chaotic situations. And I was only there as a favour to a couple of friends.

As I said there, even old women were being swept up in the mob.

What has Rowing said or done that is transphobic in your view?

I mean, I just looked at her twitter feed since yesterday and she re-tweeted this:

"Queer" was never joyous.

It wasn't joyous when my fellow gay men were being beaten to death by homophobes screaming the word at them.

And it isn't joyous now when it is used by men who beat women up and the corporations that support them.

<picture of a gay pride flag with the queer/trans portion being erased with the caption "GET YOUR **** OFF OUR FLAG">

Which is followed by several tweets/re-tweets about and in support of Kellie-Jay Keen, who distinctly anti-trans, not merely anti-anti-woman, as Rowling claims to be.

As I said initially, The Witch Hunts of J. K. Rowling is a rather transparent propaganda piece, not unlike Musk's Twitter Files.

Yep, she is pushing the wedge strategy.

Incidentally I have been beaten up by people calling me "gay" so I guess we should stop using that too.

Reclaiming "queer" was joyous. It was blunting their weapon.

People like Rowling want to reweaponise the word as an insult.

Never sharpen your enemies' weapons for them.

I'm still working my way through episode 6. They are providing conversations with two Rowling critics. If the 50 minute podcast, the first 20 minutes with the first critic focused on how mean the online trans community can be and how she has also been betrayed by them before. Only then did they get into substantive criticism of Rowling and, I am very happy to say, that there is finally an actual substantive criticism being presented. It's just a shame they had to preface it with how awful the pro-trans community is. If they give the criticism equal time, the second critic will have less than 10 minutes to say their piece.

Too late for me to edit. The episode is actually a little better than 70 minutes, including commercials. 20 minutes of "Golly, the pro-trans community is crazy/mean", about 15 minutes of substantive, if emotional, criticism of Rowling. The rest was an interview with a 17 year old trans' experience in transitioning, countering a lot of the anti-trans talking points, who was unable to actually criticizing Rowling herself. Instead, he blamed anti-trans advocates for taking her words out of context for their own purposes.

eta: Oh, and it turns out, in this episode anyway, the interviewer is actually capable of challenging what the interviewee says.

Andy Lewis publishes part 2 of his critique of Novella's muddled attempt to produce a theory of sex as a bimodal distribution.

The Muddling of the American Mind – Part II

To follow on, Jerry Coyne has just written a good blog entry on this too.

Steve Novella gets sex wrong; gets corrected twice

"Novella’s distortion of biology in the service of ideology does nobody any good, for it involves the fallacious idea that what you think is ideologically correct is what must be seen in nature. Sadly, nature does not conform to gender ideology, and sex is not a spectrum, nor even binary. It’s ineffably sad that Science-Based Medicine, a real goldmine of attacks on quackery, is now succumbing to a form of ideological quackery."

Anyone who would like a lengthy eye witness account by a woman who wished to speak, try this.
It is far far worse than I imagined.

"Let Women Speak"
huh? Well Posie, women have just spoken - they don't want you here!

Am I glad she has been sent running from New Zealand with her tail between her legs? You bet I am. We don't need her kind here, spreading her hate-fuelled rhetoric.

While I am not too pleased with the methodology - what would have been better is if the minister for immigration had shown some balls and barred this bigoted piece of human trash from even entering the country in the first place - IFAIC the end justifies the means. She has been given the clear message that she is not wanted here. She is gone and is unlikely to ever return - good riddance. I also hope this serves as a warning to others like her that if they are thinking of coming to New Zealand to spread their vile crap, they are in for a rough ride.
