The Russian Invasion of Ukraine Part 4

I would think it also opens up the door to a bit more sabotage. Who would say no to being released? I'd sure yes and then the moment I could I'd either bail, or blow some of their **** up.

Most likely it opens up the door to more crimes against civilian populations, more looting, more indiscriminate destructions (think about common, badly educated and badly trained guys in nuclear facilities :jaw-dropp)

If Russia is doing as well as their talking heads say they are, it makes you wonder why they'd need more troops.

This too …

The source was in the quote.
Sorry, I missed that. On the other hand, do you know how significant it is when entire frontline is long 2000km?

Looks like even more Russian troops could be on their way to Ukraine:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-62677262

That's nearly double the number of Russian troops estimated to have been killed or wounded.

Whether they will be successfully recruited is a different matter of course.

And where they get them? They can't even replace losses now and you think they can magically recruit 150k more? We are not playing Command and Conquer style RTS game!
If I read this correctly, this tells the Russian MoD to hire 150K more contract troops.

Jakub Janovsky:
Taking into account that Russian MoD was far short of the already approved number of contractors before the war, all the losses they took in Ukraine

how those losses are likely to deter many from signing new contracts, I expect that the Russian MoD will seriously struggle to get anywhere near that number without a major improvement of regular salaries and living/service conditions of contract soldiers.

The situation at the Nuclear Plant continures to escalate. And the Russians have such a great record when it comes to Nuclear Safety.

10% new troops arriving means more lambs to the slaughter.
Remember the scene fo the replacments arriving at the front in "Doctor Zhivago'?

There are rumours Putin could be behind it. Her father is going to be a lot of trouble for Putin when the war is called off.

He already was a problem for Putin. Daddy had advocated for regime change because Putin wasn't being aggressive enough in Ukraine. Getting put down for a dirt nap (or in this case, being turned into air pollution) is just what happens to people who call for regime change in Russia. I don't really care about the daughter getting killed; every time a Russian nationalist dies, an angle gets their wings but I really doubt she was the target.

I would normally agree with you. Her father is complaining that the problem with the war is that Putin is weak and not just killing all the Ukrainians.

I believe the quote "...kill, kill and kill..." is attributed to him. I mean, that's a fairly balance and philosophical approach for a university prof to take, don't you think?
