MTG showed her economic skill in wanting to kick Hollywood film companies out of Georgia because of their "corrupting" influence; there by depriving the state of thousands of jobs and million of dollars that filming in Georgia has brought to the state.

She stands as an example to all, gobbling the cake of the charitable public despite forsaking her salary for principle. Why can't they all?

I know this. You know this. Anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together knows this. But that lets the GOP base out; they'll continue to believe the high gas prices are Biden's/Democrats' fault while believing Trump/Republicans will put everything to right and gas will fall to $1.00 a gallon.

Your post started me wondering.

If someone mocked up a GOP letterhead and faxed something to MTG, would she tweet about it without checking it?

“For immediate release:
GOP guarantees that gas prices will be negative under its administration. Gas stations will pay you money when you fill your tank. Vote Republican.”

With Georgia closing in on California for number of feature films per year, the total yearly impact may be as high as $9 billion. With a gross state production in the neighborhood of $600 billion, Georgia might have more than one percent of its economy related to the film/TV industry.

Unconfirmed figures, but the impact must be at least in the hundreds of millions.

You act like that would be damaging. I can see a lot of people uncritically voting for that.

Old school conservatism vs new right wingers.

Establishing Georgia as a scab-friendly alternative to Hollywood is exactly the kind of thing conservatives from even a decade ago would have been extremely happy with. Race to the bottom economics has been the foundation of Southern politics for a long, long time.

Now the culture war BS trumps all other concerns. A boon for unionized film workers I suppose.

I see your point. The GOP would say to her “WTF is wrong with you? How could you think something that stupid could happen?” However the voters would lap it up and send donations.

Wait. I just realized that the GOP would love that. When questioned about it, They would say “That’s just Marjorie being Marjorie.” Heck, they could feed her all kinds of BS and not lose any voters.
-GOP plans to lower taxes on conservatives and give military personnel the largest raise in 30 years
-GOP plans to pass laws to limit the influence of radical left wing politics at the national, state, and local level.
-GOP plans to pass law saying only straight Christians can run for congress or be appointed to SCOTUS.

And if Dems complain, they’ll say, “the America-hating DemoRats say we can’t even talk about limiting Congress to straight Christians. “

Perhaps something not quite as outrageous. Dollar a gallon, perhaps.
But as someone already noted, lots of people would gladly vote, without thinking.

Perhaps something that would turn off groups of voters, like evangelists.

Right. It should be something divisive. You can't make idiots stop being idiots, but you can divide them.

Hmm, how about: "Universal basic income for stay-at-home-moms, so women can be fruitful and multiply, just as God intended!"

"No, it's so much more than that: A living wage for good Christian, er, I mean American moms whose husbands are Real Working Men™," said the generic GOP spokesperson.

"good Christian American" "Real Working Men who vote for Trump"
