The Jan. 6 Investigation

I enjoy that Meadows will be the subject of a criminal referral AND he made an ignoramus out of himself by calling his own book fake news AND Trump is furious with him.

I guess he's saying fake news because Trump tested neg shortly after? I haven't kept up on it because they all lie so ******* much it's crazy.

he said it's fake news because Trump said it's fake news like an hour before that interview, the reasoning behind it is pretty unimportant

Appeals Court Rejects Trump’s Bid to Shield Material From Jan. 6 Inquiry

A three-judge panel held that Congress’s oversight powers, backed by President Biden’s decision not to invoke executive privilege over the material, outweighed Mr. Trump’s residual secrecy powers.

Won't he just appeal to the Supreme Court? And I'm sure everyone has perfect faith in the justice done there.

Trump and his minions will stall with refusals and appeals as long as they can, because that's almost as good as being free of accountability. Trump learned this as a child, which is why he remains one.

Donald Trump loses court bid to block release of documents relating to January 6 insurrection

How many appeals (successful and attempted) to the SC has T Rump made so far? How does this compare to whomever achieved the most?

I think Carlson's son was in the Capitol Building not as part of the demonstration, but because Buckley Carlson works there. He serves as communications director for Indiana congressman Jim Banks, a reactionary Republican.

Is Tucker at all concerned that his son's life was in danger? Rampaging mobs denied their primary targets will look for anyone they can vent on.

From MSN News:
Fox News host Tucker Carlson has revealed that his son, a Congressional staffer, was working in the US Capitol during the January 6 riot. Carlson was responding to criticism that his controversial series Patriot Purge was a whitewash or 'revisionist history' when he made the revelation on the Fourth Watch Podcast hosted by Steve Krakauer. 'I hated what happened on January 6,' Carlson said. He then added that 'one of my kids was actually in the building when it happened. I was on the phone in real time.' Carlson appears to have been referring to his son Buckley Carlson, who works as a staffer for Rep. Jim Banks, an Indiana Republican. MSN link

Carlson told Krakauer that he, Carlson, especially didn't like the breaking of windows and littering by the protesters. Carlson went on to say, if the media had reported the event accurately, instead of using it "as a partisan instrument to suspend civil liberties," Carlson might not have commented at all.

The mainstream media used the events of Jan 6th as a way to "suspend civil liberties?" I must have missed that. :boggled:

Among the documents turned over to the J6 Comm. by Mark Meadows was a Jan 5 email saying the National Guard was on stand-by to "protect pro-Trump people" at the rally. Other messages revealed that, after it was clear Trump had lost the election, Meadows contacted members of Congress in an effort to them to relay to their state legislators that Trump "wanted to chat" with them. Doesn't take much to figure out why.

Other information that was among the documents included:

— Text messages with a “media personality” who had encouraged Trump to issue a statement asking those at the Capitol to “peacefully leave.” [Sean Hannity]

— A text “sent to one of — by one of the President’s family members indicating that Mr. Meadows is, quote, ‘pushing hard,’ end quote, for a statement from President Trump to, quote, ‘condemn this ****.’” [Donnie Jr.]

— Texts in December 2020 regarding efforts to install Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark as acting attorney general.

— Texts to and from a member of Congress in November 2020 seeking contact information for the attorney general of Arizona to discuss claims of election fraud.

— Texts to and from organizers of the Jan. 6 rally that preceded the violent attack on the Capitol.

— Texts “reflecting Mr. Meadows’ skepticism about public statements regarding allegations of election fraud put forth by Sidney Powell and his skepticism about the veracity of claims of tampering with Dominion voting machines.”

If that’s what he did turn over, imagine what the stuff he’s hiding behind executive privilege he won’t turn over says

"TELL THEM TO GO HOME. NOW!"

From the messages Mark Meadows has provided the the Jan 6 committee....

"He's got to condemn this **** asap. The capitol police tweet is not enough!"
-Donald Trump Jr

After Meadows replied that he was pushing hard to get Trump to comply, Don Jr texted again

"We need an oval office address. He has to lead now, it has gone too far and gotten out of hand"

Hours passed without any action by Trump.

Meadows received numerous text messages from people inside the Capitol Building. Members of congress the press and others messaged Mark Meadows as the attack was proceeding.

"We are under siege here at the capitol"

"They have breached the capital"

"Mark. Protesters are literally storming the capital. Breaking windows and doors, rushing in. Trump going to say something?"

"There's an armed stand-off at the House Chamber door"

"We are all helpless"

Dozens of texts including from Trump Administration officials urged immediate action by the President

"POTUS has to come out firmly and tell the protesters to dissipate. Someone is going to get killed"

"Mark, he needs to stop this now"

"TELL THEM TO GO HOME! NOW!" (not a typo, the message was all caps)

"POTUS needs to calm this **** down"

They knew! These messages prove beyond any doubt whatsoever that the White House knew exactly what was going on at the Capitol, and they did absolutely nothing about it.

And then, according to the records, multiple Faux News hosts knew the President needed to act immediately. They texted Mark Meadows and he has turned over those texts.

"Mark, the President needs to tell people in the Capitol to go home. This is hurting all of us he is destroying his legacy"
- Laura Ingraham

"Please get him on TV. (He's) destroying everything you have accomplished"
- Brian Kilmeade

"Can he make a statement? Ask people to leave the capitol"
-Sean Hannity

We now know irrefutably, and with absolute certainty, that while all those Faux News hosts were telling their viewers that it was Antifa who were behind the attack on the Capitol, they knew that was a lie, and they knew it was Trump supporters perpetrating ALL of the violence.

We now know irrefutably, and with absolute certainty, that all those Republican members of Congress who later claimed that the protests at the Capitol were just a like a tourist visit, were lying, and that at the time, they were crapping themselves over what was happening. Trump's allies spent the last eleven months making up every excuse they could think of to pretend that the riots were not an insurrection, but all the while, they were well aware this was an attack on American democracy, an attack so serious that multiple people conceded that this would destroy Trump's legacy.

If you were wondering why Mark Meadows didn't want to hand over any information to the January 6, well now you know.

All those Faux News hosts need to be subpoenaed to appear before the Jan 6 committee, and testify as to the content of those texts, and to submit to questioning about why they were lied to their supporters. This needs to be done in order to get this into the Congressional record.

I would be pissed if I was a Republican to learn that my representatives lied to me about Jan 6.
But at this point, Republicans are already knee-deep in GOP piss, so they wouldn't notice.
