It's pointless. There needs to be civil contempt power here for any of this to have teeth....(snip) Win or lose it makes him a hero in the world he cares about.
Yep pretty much. Ya think that guy is scared of what maybe 2 years in a country club? In earlier times they would have used the time in jail to write barely

readable tomes ...oh I dunno like "I'm not a fascist but..."

Because Bannon is a goddamn troll.

So his reaction to everything is to say something to distract us from the thing he's currently doing.

If you catch him with his hand in the cookie jar, he'll crap on the floor. If you'll yell at him for crapping on the floor he'll set the curtains on fair. If you scream at him "Why did you set the curtains on fire!?" he'll rape the dog. So now you've got three crises to fix before getting back to slapping his hand for being in the cookie jar.

He's like all Republicans, 40% of the voting populace, and half this board. His one strategy, his one reaction to everything is to be so wrong that getting even back to the original wrong you were dealing with takes so much time and effort it's demoralizing.

The "Dead Cat on the Table" theory of distraction.

Are the Tories throwing dead cats into the election debate? This question only makes sense if you recall Boris Johnson's 2013 description of a strategy deployed by an 'Australian friend' of his:
“'To understand what has happened in Europe in the last week, we must borrow from the rich and fruity vocabulary of Australian political analysis. Let us suppose you are losing an argument. The facts are overwhelmingly against you, and the more people focus on the reality the worse it is for you and your case. Your best bet in these circumstances is to perform a manoeuvre that a great campaigner describes as “throwing a dead cat on the table, mate”.
“'That is because there is one thing that is absolutely certain about throwing a dead cat on the dining room table – and I don’t mean that people will be outraged, alarmed, disgusted. That is true, but irrelevant. The key point, says my Australian friend, is that everyone will shout “Jeez, mate, there’s a dead cat on the table!”; in other words they will be talking about the dead cat, the thing you want them to talk about, and they will not be talking about the issue that has been causing you so much grief.'
Bannon makes the perfect dead cat himself.

It's hard to know what anything means when privileged idiots can behave as if the law doesn't apply to them ... and largely get away with it.

I'd expect Bannon to produce nothing useful.

I didn't think he had anything useful to start with, just low hanging Fruit Cake.
I expect the others will have more on this case he is just the easy example to set.

I don't know, Steve Bannon would have a lot to talk about concerning more than Jan 6 if he was inclined to

But I don't think he's going to be too easily persuaded

QAnon shaman was sentenced to 41 months for his role in Jan 6 was asked about accountability for president Trump

"If you're asking my opinion, my opinion is meaningless. I will say that I would probably be far more effective over a beer with former President Trump, even if he didn't have a beer, because I understand he doesn't drink beer, but I'd have a beer," attorney Albert Watkins said.

"And I'd tell him, 'You know what? You've got a few f------ things to do. Including clearing this f------ mess up and taking care of a lot of the jackasses that you f----- up because of January 6.' In the meantime, I might talk to him about some other things that I'd agree with him on. But my opinion doesn't mean s--t," he added.

Oh, did I say the shaman? Because I meant that was his lawyer

Sounds like the shaman's lawyer is a Trump supporter but would like to sit down with him informally and try to explain that he needs to clean up the mess he caused on January 6th. It's not clear to me whether "cleaning up" means taking responsibility for the mess, whether he thinks that President Trump should "look after" his supporters by covering their legal bills or whether he's suggesting that he's seeking a blanket pardon for the insurrectionists.

All he is going to say about the sixth is he thought there was going to be a pitched battle with Antifa and BLM supporters at the Capitol, but Democrats and Biden supporting Independents like me were telling people it was a set up, and to stay away.

The 6thC has subpoenaed Roger Stone and Alex Jones, two of the biggest POS out there.

Please don't insult POS 's by comparing them with Grifters like stone and Jones POS "s make Wild Flowers grow, Stone and Alex kill everything good they touch just Like Donald Trump does.
