Getting back to Trump.
Vanessa Bryant filed a lawsuit claiming emotional distress. The defense is insisting that this emotional distress needs to be documented by an eight-hour involuntary psychiatric exam.

I think Obama and W. could handle something like that with ease and get a passing grade.
I cannot begin to imagine what would happen if Trump were brought to a mental hospital for an eight-hour evaluation.

On the other hand it might be fun to estimate the amount of time needed before a team of psychiatrists would say “we’ve seen enough, this guy is coo coo for Cocoa Puffs.”
As for an over/under bet on the time needed, I suppose I’d take either side of 40 minutes.

Surely the emotional distress would be the plaintiff's and hence she would be the one examined?

I expect the researchers would all demonstrate clear effects of emotional distress after having to deal with Trump for 8 straight hours.

Yes, the defense is demanding the right to examine her. It's hard to believe a shrink hired by the defense would be objective about her mental state.
Los Angeles County has demanded in a court filing that Vanessa Bryant undergo an independent psychiatric evaluation to prove that the leaked photos of the helicopter crash that killed her husband and their daughter caused emotional distress — the latest development in her lawsuit against the county.

Trump giving video deposition about assault during demonstration at Trump Tower:
Washington — Former President Trump will be required to appear for a videotaped deposition in New York next week, a New York judge ruled Thursday.

"It is hereby ordered…Donald J. Trump shall appear for a deposition on October 15, 2021 at 10 a.m.," wrote New York State Supreme Court Judge Doris Gonzalez, ruling in favor of a group of Mexican human rights activists who sued Mr. Trump, his business, and his presidential campaign in 2015.

He was deposed under oath this morning. Not that his oath means anything.

ETA: Well, I thought he was. Not finding that it actually happened yet.

My boss, who was a life long GOP member, quit a year ago saying he joined the Republican party, not a insane personality cult.
It's tragic, though. We need a non insane conservative party as a counterbalance to the Democrats.

No the democrats are a sane conservative party we need a real liberal party.

Looks like he was. Lasted over 4 hours.

From: CNN
Former President Donald Trump answered questions under oath for about 4 1/2 hours Monday as part of a lawsuit brought by men alleging they were assaulted by his security during a demonstration outside Trump Tower in 2015

Sadly I don't think this will have much impact. Trump wasn't DIRECTLY involved in the incident, we will likely only see the deposition if they use it in trial.

How many millions of times could he say "Duh..." and "I don't recall" in 4 hours?

He'd never say that! He has one of the greatest memories off all time! He says so himself and being the modest, self-effacing* man he is, would he lie?

I actually typed 'self-effing man' first and only caught it on second reading. Freudian slip?

Then again President Trump is on record saying he doesn't recall saying that. :boggled:

Donald Trump in a deposition for a Trump University lawsuit said that he doesn't recall claiming to have the world's greatest memory

You literally couldn't make this up.

CNN said:
“On Monday, former President Donald Trump sued the congressional committee investigating the January 6 riot at the US Capitol in an attempt to keep the committee from getting its hands on roughly 40 documents.

Because of course he did.”

Addicted to attention.
Addicted to lawsuits.

Sadly, there is no treatment center to help someone with these problems.

If there's one video I'm looking forward to seeing, it's clips from that deposition. I imagine we might see the visual definition of "bristle".

I know this is a classic case of “whataboutism”, but this is neither a new tactic nor limited to just one President/political party.

(Link to Youtube video of Bill Clinton deleted for space)
True, its not surprising for politicians (heck, people in general) to use "I don't recall" when questioned.

I think the big difference here is that Clinton never made any sort of huge claims about how super-intelligent he was. On the other hand, Stubby McBonespurs deserves some extra derision because his boastful claims about "great memory" and "stable genius" conflict with repeated responses of "I don't recall".
