The funny thing is that Cheney should be, in many ways, the poster child for the militant right wing, conservative party, combining, so it seems, the worst ideas in almost every subject with some semblance of consistency and, dare one say it, integrity. Not only that, but she's young and female at a time when, looking down the road, it seems likely that young female conservative firebrand would make a pretty good presidential candidate. A dangerous person. She could be the face of the party if the party did not instead wish to follow its corrupt, aging boomers down the drain.

And yet, instead, the party goes with a hypocritical, self-serving charlatan who believes nothing, understands less, betrays everyone, and will likely be dead in a few years, possibly only after having become an obviously demented embarrassment. I can't help but think that, however compelling their reasons for this attitude might be for the moment, they will end up as a long term disaster.

They're doing too much damage in the present for me to be very happy about the prospect of the future, but I hope my prediction is right and I live to see at least a little of the gory wreck.

The GOP deserves it's fate, but ,frankly, I don't like the idea of the Dems being being a totally dominant party. Won't take long for power to corrupt them. You need a strong "Loyal Opposition" in a democracy.

If anyone is counting the corpses of the GOP, I think it's a bit too soon, to say the least. Trump and his party, no matter how wrong, stupid, crooked, and incompetent they are, will cheat their asses off in every election from here to doomsday. They will win some of them. The consequences will be dire.

Americans have their work cut out for them. It's not over. It's just beginning.

tl;dr Laughing at the idiots doesn't stop them.

Considering the guy doping the horse was ranting Fox News talking points, I think he's right but not for the reason he thinks.
 
I thought I'd posted this already but must have failed to push the button)

A typical T**** response, it seems. First of all, he seems unaware that horse doping is hardly a new thing, nor a solely American one, and that if anything is emblematic it's that the rules have become that tight.

Second he seems unaware that the drug in question is actually a permitted one and the charge is for the amount, not the thing itself.

And third he seems unaware that the charge is not complete yet, as it's a split test, and though damning so far, it could be reversed by a second test or appealed despite it.

Maybe it's just sour grapes, because he can no longer give Medals of Freedom to real junkies.

So yes, something is said about this country, but by a different part of a different horse.

That's ok. Before that happens, assuming the GOP goes Dodo, the Democratic party would split and the primaries and presidentials would just merge.

Depends if the target deserves it. In this case, they do. I mean, they support an insurrection, a conspiracy theory about voter fraud, and the least competent man in the world, while playing to racists and extremists, and denying science and common decency and solidarity. **** 'em.

I hate this argument. I hate it so much.

There's a buffet. Your choices are tuna casserole and dog **** with broken glass and pieces of razor wire in it.

But every time we talk about getting rid of the dog **** someone screams "OH SO I GUESS YOU ONLY WANT ONE CHOICE ON THE BUFFET! THE WHOLE POINT OF A BUFFET IS TO HAVE CHOICES!"

And I don't even like Tuna Casserole all that much, I can eat it but in no scenario is it going to be my first choice and Yes I too would like tacos and burgers and ribeye and a sushi bar and maybe one of those cool chocolate fountain things you can stick strawberries and marshmallows on toothpicks in...

BUT NONE OF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH GETTING RID OF THE DOG ******.

You needn't worry. Two years from now the R's will have the House and Senate.
And the R's are incapable of being "Loyal Opposition", unless you mean "Loyal to Trump, Opposed to Democracy."
