The Biden Presidency

How does that not make cheese? Is it because you put yeast in it?

To be quite honest, my knowledge of it goes little further than being acquainted with its existence. Similarly, I've heard of Airag, Kumis, Arkhi, and blaand, but wikipedia is likely much more useful on the subject. From the production of Kumis part....

Kumis is made by fermenting raw unpasteurized mare's milk over the course of hours or days, often while stirring or churning. (The physical agitation has similarities to making butter). During the fermentation, lactobacilli bacteria acidify the milk, and yeasts turn it into a carbonated and mildly alcoholic drink.

Traditionally, this fermentation took place in horse-hide containers, which might be left on the top of a yurt and turned over on occasion, or strapped to a saddle and joggled around over the course of a day's riding. Today, a wooden vat or plastic barrel may be used in place of the leather container.[12]

In modern controlled production, the initial fermentation takes two to five hours at a temperature of around 27 °C (81 °F); this may be followed by a cooler aging period.[13] The finished product contains between 0.7 and 2.5% alcohol.[14]

Kumis itself has a very low level of alcohol, comparable to small beer, the common drink of medieval Europe that also helps to avoid the consumption of potentially contaminated water. Kumis can, however, be strengthened through freeze distillation, a technique Central Asian nomads are reported to have employed.[15] It can also be made into the distilled beverage known as araka or arkhi.

So... that does involve yeast, at least.

A bit more generally, there's also a page for fermented milk products.

That made me remember what my sister told me about when she worked in Saudi Arabia for 3 years. She said the Saudis didn't drink alcohol...in public. But she also said at private parties, it flowed like crazy and only the best would do.

I can confirm that. I was at a closing party for half a dozen of us that had served on a Emir's Commission in Kuwait. The food and wine flowed and were delicious. Then the photographer came in. All the natives grabbed a bottle or two and held it under the table while pictures were taken. But as soon as he was out of the room .......

The importance of Biden's plan to fund the IRS the way it was supposed to can not be overstated.
The US is leaving trillions on the table, just so they won't upset the Rich.

I expect the GOP to fight this more than Covd-relief and Infrastructure combined.

I suspect there will be some resistance from some Democrats as well. As seen by their insistence in defending the SALT tax cuts, which primarily benefit the wealthiest Americans, many liberals are not interested in taxing the wealthy.

Wealthy people being able to hoard their money is one of the few issues in this country with bipartisan support.

Breaking the lactose down with lactase yield more fermentable sugars.

I am mildly amused by the letter I just got from president Biden regarding the $5600 that he's giving me.

Aaaannd McConnell and the GOP simply cannot help themselves. They have to lie, they can't say a single good word about Biden all the while whining that the Democrats won't compromise.

GOP: Joe Biden's 100 Days Of Failure
Biden’s Open Borders Agenda Created A Border Crisis
He never had an "open border agenda". That has always been a GOP campaign fear-mongering lie. They go on detailing whatever to support this lie.

Biden’s Anti-Energy Agenda Is Destroying Jobs
Another BS claim. One only needs to look at the 'plant-based beer' faux pas to see how dishonest that assertion is.

Biden’s Proposal Is Not An Infrastructure Package
And we are supposed to believe they intend to negotiate in good faith?

Biden Brings Back The Climate Hypocrites
No comment needed.

On Schools, Biden Has Put Special Interests First
Mostly this is a complaint about not immediately opening all schools. The GOP is unwilling to even look at the importance of controlling the pandemic.

Biden Is Refusing To Speak Out Against The Growing Anti-Police Rhetoric In The Democrat Party.
Which is, interestingly enough, the feelings the US majority has about problems with police departments. The DoJ is addressing the issues directly. So what does the GOP want, Biden to declare Chauvin innocent?

Biden’s Flip On Court Packing
I wish. Not a word on GOP hypocrisy of course.

Biden Says Goodbye To Bipartisanship & Hello To Extremism
These guys need a good look in the mirror.

Biden’s Georgia Boycott
Good, though I'm not sure what they mean.

Biden Backs The Democrats’ H.R. 1 Power Grab
Now they just want to make me sick.

Biden Embraces Far-Left Spending Proposals & A Minimum Wage
As does a majority in the US, and no Biden did not move to the left.

Biden Is Caving To America’s Enemies
Because as we all know, Russia is our friend and we should stick it to Chyna.

Biden Is Now A Pro-Abortion Extremist
Oooo, extremist, how scary is that?

Obamacare & Biden’s Government Takeover Of Health Care
And they didn't even have to dust that lie off, just pull it back off the shelf complete with the dishonest "Obama care" narrative.

On Operation Warp Speed, He’s The Lying, Plagiarist In Chief
Oh my word! Trump is ending the pandemic single handed and Biden is taking credit. Do these idiots really believe this? I suppose since they believe the big stolen election lie that they do.

Biden’s COVID $1.9 Trillion Bill Was A Far-Left Boondoggle
While tax cuts for the rich helped us all. Same old same old.

Republican Coronavirus Policies Worked, Now Biden Wants To Rewrite History
Clearly projecting what they are doing.

Biden Gives The Worst Governors In The Nation A Pass
Includes Cuomo of course though I don't know that Biden has weighed in one way or the other since the accusations emerged. They want Biden to "take responsibility" for Cuomo. Are they kidding? But they do want to keep harping on Cuomo's nursing home death deceit. Time to move on IMO. They want Biden to criticize Whitmer because COVID is spreading there and Newsom because he won't open the state up.

And of course they don't include voter suppression and opening too soon, keeping the pandemic going as any reason Biden should address any governors.

I'm really sick of this kind of crap.

An Opaque Administration Where One Has To Wonder Who Is Setting Policy
Meh. And they end with a pic of Biden stumbling on the plane stairway.

I just copied the headings. You can find all the details in the link. They have a very long padded list of complaints if you have the stomach for it. I turned McConnell's speech off. That man really makes me sick. He has done nearly as much damage as Dump as Majority Leader. I imagine giving his speech early today is just a propaganda technique of getting his lies out before and after Biden's speech. Not sure who is designated to give a rebuttal to Biden. I suppose I could look it up. I believe there is also a more liberal speech planned after Biden's.

I'm not all that interested in Biden's speech tonight either. As I said before as a speaker I find Biden boring to listen to. I'll wait for the reviews.

I hope that Biden has something planned to prevent the return of inflation, since that seems to be the biggest risk at the moment.

I legit saw an ad for "Plant Based Menthol" cigarettes on front glass of a curb market window the other day.

Menthol can be extracted from peppermint plants or synthesized artificially. They're probably advertising natural menthol instead of synthetic menthol. We have something similar where I work, with a thymol-based disinfectant. It uses synthetic thymol instead of thymol extracted from thyme plants because it's cheaper, but some companies use natural thymol as a selling point.
