I just watched the first one of six parts of the HBO documentary. It’s pretty good so far. I’m familiar with most of the players but seeing them on camera is a new dimension. The forum drama about Q going to a new board reminds me a lot of the White Supremacy infighting drama.

There's quite a lot of coverage of Brennan and the Watkins over all six episodes.

Brennan's narrow escape from dying in a Philippine jail was something that was broadly known based on his interviews until now, but the specifics were always cloudy. The documentary shows how this went down in much more clarity.

There's no mincing words about it, Watkins was trying to have him killed. Had he gone to the dismal prisons there he would have died, considering the seriousness of his disability and the extremely poor conditions of these prisons.

Yes, that was a close call getting the document to leave the country. The Philippines can be a scary place, and Jim Watkins came across as pretty weird and scary himself.

Overall, I thought the documentary was pretty interesting.
