I was thinking "ideodolia," since so much of the picture they assemble out of static seems to correspond with their ideology (such as it is).
 
Here's the thing, there are secret organizations who conduct secret operations.

In my neck of the woods these organizations are the FSB, Mossad, a few other foreign intelligence services, and the biggest operator being Chinese State Intelligence. They target Silicon Valley companies and their employees throughout the Bay Area and south into Monterey County where the Chinese run smuggling operations through the Big Sur coast.

They don't advertise. They don't use secret symbols. They're not on social media in an active way (although they certainly use it to their ends). They don't hold meetings in Pizza Parlor basements. They do not conduct rituals in the dead of night.

They only way we know they're here is after-the-fact when someone gets caught. And those people usually know a limited vision of the operation of which they were a part.

The idea that secret organizations leave clues is stupid.

Freemasons have their own temples which are clearly marked, and their members are free to wear whatever symbology on their lapels, cuffs, belt-buckles, or things to stick on their vehicles. Same is true with the Knights of Columbus, Opus Dei, and the original Church of Satan.
 
Will you all please make a better attempt to stick to your membership agreements. Do not insult each other, do not breach rule 10 in the public sections, and do not personalise your posts. And please report breaches rather than quoting them.

I don't know if that is true, on one level, in the long run. Scientology has clear ownership and Hubbard had to buy back the rights to his earlier version of Scientology, Dianetics, to maintain control of the cult. By maintaining clear ownership Scientology could use legal processes to force opponents to withdraw, by seeking damages and so on.

In contrast no one owns Qanon, or can litigate on its behalf or seek donations as its owner, and already it has morphed into an anti 5G cult away from the USA. That suggests, that eventually, all the fuzzy sub theories, currently linked to Qanon will be be scooped up by other entities who can both seek revenue and own identifiable rights.

You could argue, as a counter argument, that there are thousands of small christian groups seeking individual donations and revenue, however, they are restricted by following the Bible, while Q-Anon has no fixed "theme" at all. Qanon doesn't even have a bank account. :)

I don't think of the Co$ much recently. But I got caught up in a handful of vids over the weekend covering what's been happening in Clearwater this past year. Still a ton of bad juju associated with that group. [emoji20]

First rule of a real life secret organization is to keep as low a profile as possible and do nothing to attract attention to yourself. you don't behave the like the villian is a James Bond movie or Hydra in the Marvel Universe.

Off Topic : As people have to come and go, packages have to be delivered and so on, I always think the best secret organisations run from behind a front cash business. You can also move money through the front business. The Mafia used flower shops, and bars. The (Man from) UNCLE operated from a laundry.

The Australian Tax Office uses established financial ratios to point them towards suspicious businesses. If a flower shop's tax return indicates it turns over $10 million with only one employee and small flower stock turn over....well the ATO will look at that business.

Everyone knows the International Special Forces mercenaries for hire (ISF) operates from behind a skeptic forum front:)

In the original "Nick Fury, Agent Of SHIELD" stories from the 1960's, SHIELD used a Barber Shop as their New York Front.
Yes, the original SHIELD stories were a pretty blatent attempt by Marvel to cash in on the Spy craze of the 1960's.
And , of course, there is the grandaddy of all fronts for spy organizations; "Universal Exports" in the James Bond Novels.
