Certifying the Vote.

Well then Romney maybe you shouldn't have run interference for Trump's evil dumb ass for the last 4 years.

Good speech by Romney now. He says that those who have incited this will have this as their legacy.

He did give some praise to those who withdrew their objections though.

Why is he talking to us and not the Senate?

ETA: Doh!! Irregardless is not a word!

THANK YOU!

Except it is. From the Miriam Webster Dictionary

Frequently Asked Questions About irregardless
Is irregardless a word?
Yes. It may not be a word that you like, or a word that you would use in a term paper, but irregardless certainly is a word. It has been in use for well over 200 years, employed by a large number of people across a wide geographic range and with a consistent meaning. That is why we, and well-nigh every other dictionary of modern English, define this word. Remember that a definition is not an endorsement of a word’s use.

Does irregardless mean the same thing as regardless?
Yes. We define irregardless as "regardless." Many people find irregardless to be a nonsensical word, as the ir- prefix usually functions to indicate negation; however, in this case it appears to function as an intensifier. Similar ir- words, while rare, do exist in English, including irremediless ("remediless"), irresistless ("resistless") and irrelentlessly ("relentlessly).

Indeed. It is a word. It's just a stupid one.

My pet peeve. I despise arguments about definitions and words. I don't care about them as long as the meaning is understood. Also dictionaries are not authorities even though I used it as one.

Words don't have definitions, only usages.

OK, no argument from me, then. I still have no respect for Hawley.

Minor nitpick...

Romney has only been a senator for 2 years. And he was the only republican senator to vote in favor of impeachment. So I don't think you can lump him in with Moscow Mitch, Lady Lindsey, and the majority of Republican Congress Critters.

(On the other hand, he did vote to confirm the stepford wife to the supreme court.)

Lindsey Graham is slamming Cruz's election committee plan. And getting more laughs than Sasse.

ETA: And slamming the election conspiracy theories.

ETA: "When it is over it is over. It is ovah!"

There is also news that the Trump cabinet is meeting right now and is discussing invoking the 25th Amendment.
Where did you hear this?
Not sure if the Trump cabinet is discussing invoking the 25th amendment, but there are calls from Democrats (and, unexpectedly, the National Association of Manufacturers).

From: The Hill
Democratic lawmakers called on Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment..."Dear @VP @Mike_Pence: You need to start the 25th Amendment. @realDonaldTrump is detached from reality," wrote Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.)...Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) tweeted, "Donald J. Trump should immediately be impeached"...Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.) similarly called for Trump’s removal from office, calling the rioters “domestic terrorists.”
...
In an unprecedented move, the National Association of Manufacturers released a statement on Wednesday supporting the proposed move.

ETA: Here is an article about the 25th amendment...

From: KWCH (a CBS station)
CBS News Political Correspondent Ed O’Keefe reports from the network’s Senior Foreign Affairs Correspondent Margaret Brennan that cabinet secretaries in President Donald Trump’s administration are discussing invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office.
