Not just furniture, but three guys pointing pistols. Those look like the doors to the House chamber. I suspect nobody ever imagined that attackers could get so far into the building past the main entrances.

Problem is that it's an American Treadiion that the Capitol building is open to the public...much more then the White House. Sadly, that might have to change.
 
one of those times it doesn’t feel good to be right.

the former president incited thousands of people to arm themselves and try and overthrow the US government. you can’t let that go, as hard as it’s going to be on the country.

A White House adviser said some aides around President Donald Trump are becoming furious that the President won't do more to stop the insurrection at the Capitol.

The adviser said aides have been all but begging Trump to come out and make a statement to begin to calm the situation.

"He doesn't want to" do more than what he is doing right now, the adviser said.
"If we could throw him to the angry mob, we'd throw him to the angry mob now," the adviser said.

Yeah, Trump is loving this. It's like one of his rallies turned up to eleven.
 
Trump just told people to go home, even as he ranted about the "stolen" election and the evil opposition. Neither sincere nor persuasive.

Probably wise to delete it. Wagging your finger and tut-tutting at rioters overrunning the Capitol building while calling them "American Patriots" is likely going not going to age well. I mean, c'mon- "Please"?

Oh, you are ******* kidding me. "We had an election that was stolen from us...this was a fraudulent election...I know how you feel...etc." He's telling them to go home and simultaneously repeating the lies that brought them to this point!

There have been a lot of low points in Trump's presidency- that little performance has got to be one of the lowest.
 
The 3 broadcast networks have scarpped their usual soap operas in favor of coverage of the insurrection.
last time this happened was 9/11.
